Even as someone who has been deep in the stalker universe for some time, please refrain from using an abundance of pricey gear, the mercs and the military are the exception to this. I'm sure most people don't care about everyone having optics and NVGs on people but the vast majority of people in the zone are running in with guns that have been either holdovers from the time Ukraine was in the USSR or their grandpa's rifle from WW2. If you want to go for an authentic look look into stuff like what would you get in the Eastern European surplus market, illegal arms trade, or even what minimal Western involvement would look like. Yes some STALKERS have pricey gear but they're typically veterans of the zone or well supplied which is rare TLDR: please don't make everyone have equipment that wouldn't make sense in a former Soviet state.

The whole plot is about an external military team going into the Zone to locate a signal. It makes sense a modern military team would have that kit. If you look at the enemies and the free Stalker that's guiding them they have a lot worse gear. As long as they don't sideline the main charcter Stalker and make him essential to the team it should be fine.

People, outsiders and long time residents alike, are always dying, and all that reminds at times are just the guns, the kit and whatever shell casings the scavenger finds. It's not impossible that some government outsider gets swept away and a stalker comes along and collects it for his use.

I am so happy that they made the Monolith actually terrifying only by showing it for only a couple seconds of screen time in this trailer. They’re not human, they do not flinch even when calmly walking through gunfire. The bullets pulverize when hitting their plate, most likely thanks to shards of Jellyfish artifacts pushing the metal away when coming close. They don’t communicate, they just think, and each of their thought is shared with the other, and the only word that comes out of their muffled voice is… *”Worm, enemy of the Monolith, your end is near…”*

I think one on my favorite aesthetics, is that you gave the TL Monolith a "Empty" Arty, or "Full Empty" Arty, and it completely tanked those 5.56 rounds, showing exactly how outclassed the team of Mercs truly was given the equipment difference between them. I also love how the entire equipment loadout is lore accurate with them carrying a NATO based arsenal and Gen. 3 electrical gear, complete with a supportive gunner having the SAW for suppressive fire. I recently finished my first playthrough of Story Mode, Loner Faction in STALKER GAMMA (thanks to @OperatorDrewski 😘) after 200+ hours playtime and I immediately started up a Mercenary playthrough after watching this Trailer. I am so amped for this Movie and the upcoming release of STALKER 2!!!!!!🤗

Tbh it looks cool but not like Stalker. The Mercs using expensive gear is fine but in the games it was always 80s SAS uniforms and Exoskeletons. They used AKs, LR 300s and F2000s. I get that budgeting is hard though I doubt even prop M4s and night vision are that cheap. Also it doesn't make that much sense for them all to be American given we never see them in game. At least the main character looks somewhat like an actual stalker.

The most probable reason why the mercs are american is probably because they don't want to spend their budget on ukrainian actors, and the mercs being westerners are also plausible, the reason why the mercs in the game speak russian or ukrainian is probably due to budget constraints but its still plausible.

I really hope you guys get Stalker right. Stalket is about stumbling upon bandits, barely surviving, looting them, getting above the weight limit so you have to walk, and half way to a safe zone to trade the items, you stuble upon a pack of dogs and have to climb the nearest structure to not get mauled, you avoid them and just when you're getting to your objective, an emission goes off and you get into shelter seconds before death. Stalker is about feeling better in the zone than in the real world because there you have a pourpose, and shared trauma creates stronger bonds than you ever had outside. This is what Stalker is about, not tacticool shootouts in an apocalyptic enviroment while characters spit pseudo philosophical stuff that has no meaning because it's fictional philosophy. Maybe it sounds like i'm indirectly criticising this, but no, nobody really knows what's this gonna be like.

This doesn't scream S.T.A.L.K.E.R, this screams "look at our kit and how cool we are." S.T.A.L.K.E.R is about the gritty harsh nature of human greed and the devastating effects it has on the world. As the mercs, they should be shown killing everyone and everything, NOT these cool ultra SOF guys. The gear is too clean, the weapons are too pristine, the environment is okay, etc.

I dunno man, that doesn't really feel like stalker. The mercs are way too overgeared, in the games they were rocking modified EEU civilian ARs, L85s and maybe the occasional G36. The only people you'd find kitted out in full plate and NVGs are high ranking faction members and maybe sarcophagus monolith fodder. Feels closer to the "raid" series for Tarkov with anomalies and faction logos glued on than it does anything from the games.

That's what I began thinking too, maybe there'll be a good reason for it, maybe they're all pretty high ranking or maybe they wanted to get top notch gear since the mission seemed pretty unusual or dangerous. Or maybe it'll just be because of it being closer to stalker 2 that the original trilogy. Hope there's a good explanation as to why they're overly kitted out

@@NacalalSure, it's possible. The better gear exists in the universe in the game as events take place in modern times, and it's definitely plausible that it could happen. However the issue I see is that it doesn't match the VIBE of Stalker series. It's way too tactical, especially in the gear. When you think of Stalker, you think of trying hard to survive with what you have, which is usually shoddy. I still admire the production quality, it looks amazing. Really great job. It just doesn't FEEL Stalker, unfortunately.
