S&W FPC Taccom Charging Handle install

If you are using the butt stock for mag storage, this can be in the way. The 15 round mags are fine, the 17 and 23 round mag are definitely in the way of this handle. Especially if you choose to use the bottom/center handle position.

Do you have a working relationship with Taccom? I would think those attachment points could be moved towards the front of the bracket and would help in the clearance of the magazines. Just a thought

Question, so if you run the handle on the right hand side only do you have clearance for a mag in the butt stock on the left hand side? Or does the aluminum block interfere as well? I only have 17 and 23 round mags right now. I'd be happy with being able to stow one mag if possible.

I am interested in the answer to this question also. I still would like to store the 23 round magazines with this charging handle.

@@rayjr1919The way I see it, the 23 round mags will NOT work with this handle at all. Even if the handles were moved, the 23's are going to be in the way. 17's may be able to skirt it. I am going to do a range report later this week.

No, the Taccom handle has absolutely no locking abilities at all.

I just received the charging handle and got it installed. Love it! Much better than the original. With the OG I've hit myself in the mouth once and it didn't feel great. lol. I installed it like you did so no more surprises there! My FPC has turned into a bad ass looking firearm with all these upgrades that's for sure! Thanks, brother!

What locks the barrel in place when folded

Nothing, I don't need or want the folding aspect. I don't fold mine at all.

I picked up the FPC about 3 weeks ago up here in Canada. It is a blast to take to the range! Awesome carbine that has not had a single malfunction yet (500 rounds so far). I do find that it gets quite dirty after shooting, however that is most likely is due to the cheap Remington UMC 115gr ammo that I run through it. The ammo is cheap and dirty, however it goes bang every time I pull the trigger! Hopefully this carbine doesn't get banned in Canada. (our FPC's come with 10 round mags only). Your videos have been extremely helpful, thank you! I have watched all of your videos on the FPC and plan to implement the upgrades that you have done!

No, the locking ability is gone with this charging handle. It will fold to some degree.

FYI……the base is not aluminum…..rather it is actually steel, you will have to work at it to strip the threads. The round handles are Delrin, and with the screw that goes thru them, they will not ever break.

My charging handle just hit me in the mouth this morning. Was thinking of cutting off the left side of the handle. This should be a much better solution.

I had to file the inside edges of front of new handle to make it fit correctly. George

@holloepointdefense..How does that handle keep the gun folded? The handle you took off doubles as a retainer to keep it folded

You lose the folding option. For me, I can careless about the folding option so it isn’t something I need.
