@Chase Walbert What kirby players are you talking to that don't like the Samus matchup? I guess if you as a player struggle with a matchup it doesn't matter whether your character wins or loses it, but Kirby definitely wins that matchup (not by a huge margin but still, neither I nor any other Kirby mains I've met have ever complained about Samus being a hard matchup). The others are at least arguably bad for kirby, but there are still matchups that are worse. And yes off stage Belmont's lose hard to Kirby (I legitimately think Kirby has some of the edge guarding in the game although he can't always make good use of it), but Kirby's low air mobility makes difficult for him to get in even with multiple jumps. Ritcher is one of the best zoners in the game (Snake comes to mind as a better zoner from my perspective, and I could see someone arguing for Pacman as well although I would disagree with that assessment. ) I don't know about other people, but when I talk about matchups, I am assuming two players of approximately equal skill playing there main at a anywhere from a mid to high level of skill for an average local competitive scene (although some matchups do still change depending on the skill level within the range I am assuming.) P. S. Sorry for the long response, or if I come off as stand off-ish, I sometimes get a little carried away when it comes to Kirby sometimes.

Richter is the perfect anti kirby opponent. Whips for high percentage hits, axes for zoning. That rising uppercut for anti air and blue fire for traps. He neutralizes everything kirby does well

In JeJaJeJa's defense, he was playing a kirby against a Richter. By design that's not a match that a kirby is capable of winning so JeJaJeJa lost the battle literally before it even started. Unfortunately, kirby just lacks the tools needed to have any sort of chance of winning. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that Richter is literally designed to beat kirby 100 percent of the time.

@@DeemerAV he wasn't playing against Belmont. He was playing against Richter. That's a heavily Projectile based character, with long range attacks via his whip. Of course kirby can beat Belmont. But a Richter? Going by character match up alone, it's impossible and a match-up that kirby loses before the battle even begins. Richter is a character that you can't keep kirby for if you want any realistic chance of winning.

All things equal, kirby isn't capable of beating Richter. Lacks the tools. Yea there are exceptions like when the kirby player is many levels of skill better then the Richter player. Or if Richter player has horrible spacing. That sort of thing. But looking at the characters alone, it's a loosing battle for kirby with a close to no chance of winning, as clearly seen in the video. To not even take a single set? Across all the games? Most of them it was a wash. The video speaks for itself. The personal experiance of every kirby player speaks for itself. What more needs to be said?

Richter and Simon are literally the lamest characters in the game. Yes I’m a Kirby main. Yes I hate zoners. And yes Samus is a hard match up for me, but I can use skill to counter that. I don't think the Belmonts are good for the game at all. Encouraging total spam, avoiding combat, and running away. A "skilled" Belmont looks like a wall of projectiles and cross-stage whips, avoiding getting into enemy range at all. It's a horrible matchup for almost everyone short range, and to fight them you just spam projectiles back. Boring and frustrating to watch and play
