I wish JeJa would just use the copy ever. It helps this MU so much. He used it in his FT5 vs skittles and he 3 stocked him. It’s also not a question of getting it. You can combo into it from up-tilt which you can combo into from all of Kirby’s moves. He was in a position to true combo into it like 100 times this set. No idea how he makes it this competitive without the copy.

You really dont need the copy ability most of the time, even Link's. It doesn't really do a ton for the matchup. Maybe it goes from 7-3 to 6-4, maybe. Link forces you to play slow, and Jeja doesn't really do "slow".

@@YnnY_1 7-3? You’re crazy. With how good pancaking is, how good fire arrow is, how much damage Kirby does, and how exploitable YL’s recovery is this MU is even IMO. If you just never use Fire Arrows then it’s 6-4.

It is not even at all. Kirby can’t get in he immediately loses neutral super hard and gets camped and dies early to a lot of yink’s confirms.

@@okayperson3041 Without fire arrow neutral isn't great, but it isn't unwinnable or "super hard." I mean, just look at this set. Having multiple jumps helps a lot vs zoners because it allows you to use your double jump in neutral without fear of being gimped which is amazing since jumping in or not as well as when is what the fireball game is based on. Additionally, Kirby's n-air is a long lasting hitbox that beats fire arrow and boomerang. Once Kirby gets in with any of his main neutral tools (n-air, f-air, b-air, up-tilt, d-tilt, grab) then he has true combos that get copy that deal 40% or more. Having fire arrow makes neutral even in my opinion because you still have your multiple jumps and n-air as well as having the option to camp. Other aspects of the MU are pretty good for Kirby. Kirby can edge guard YL much better than he can, but YL has better ledgetrapping, though Kirby's ledgetrapping is pretty good (but still worse) offline. Lastly Kirby has much better kill power than YL between f-air 1, f-air 2, weak n-air, d-tilt, and up-tilt kill confirms. Kirby also has much more powerful raw kill power with b-air, strong n-air, and f-air 3. There's also the previously mentioned edgeguarding.

Ask any player in a fighting game, zoneing is hated because its a timid anoying ass strategie and dificult to deal with if you dont have projectiles yourself. Zoners or rather the zoneing playstyle (ehem...spamming projectiles while yo ass is far away, avoiding any kind of close interaction in a game where you suposed to throw hands and running if you get aproached) are hated in any fighting game no matter the size of the roster.

Totally agree. When I first started watching jeja I was blown away by how good his Kirby is, and he definitely is a great player but like you said he has a very predictable pattern. Not just the fair but other things as well. Imo he seems to constantly mash options which benefits him when someone is approaching, but when the other player slows things down he does so much worse. I get that the aerials are meant to beat out projectiles but he plays like that every set. His gameplay has gotten so stale to watch imo. Not trying to diss jeja or anything, I still think he’s a great player. Just a spectators perspective.
