I LOVE how Curb serves as a lens into our relationship with technology over the past few decades. It’s one of my favorite aspects of the show. So many of life’s pivotal moments are shaped by the technology of the time, and Curb captures that beautifully. Watching those early episodes feels like stepping into a time machine, not a bad way to gain perspective. ☺️

I didn't get it until now either because usually when you're introduced to someone your next words are towards them. I could never understand why mentioning affirmative action to a Black Dr was funny. But now it makes sense that it was directed toward Richard and his choice of Dr. I'm thinking this may have been Jeff's confusion as well. Although, Jeff didn't get Larry's reference to Cinderella in the episode when he's trying to break up with Viveca Fox's character and that couldn't have been more clear.

The funniest part of this episode, which is a top 10 Curb moment in my view, is when the black lady says, “I’ve got your number” (which is a completely authentic thing for a black women to say), and Larry says, “what number . . . no number . . . there’s no number to have . . .” Genius!!!
@xplaybwoix10 ай бұрын
I think because Susie is comfortable with the interuptions and they are so close as friends irl , Jeff will therefore be himself and interuupt like normal. Might help to get more guests on and I think in that context, Jeff would be less inclined to interupt and we'd have less ' by the ways' ... Plenty of people to ask on the show. I just want Jeff to be less controlling, telling Susie to ' 'go ahead' or makes her wait until he lets all his thoughts out. He just needs to let Susie speak more and share her thoughts and it would be much more even footing if there was an extra guest.

Plenty of black people on Seinfeld. This is such a non-thing. Off the top of my head: The old man's caretaker from Senegal was admired by all the white guys. The hired exterminator, and George's Yankees coworker, were both black in an episode about George trying to prove he likes blacks. Elaine hoping her curly haired boyfriend was black and her disappointment learning he wasn't. And the coffeeshop manager who had problems with George was black, as was Elaine's lady coworker at Pendant, as was the family tolerating George so he could watch Breakfast at Tiffany's. And Jackie Chiles, Kramer's iconic lawyer was black. So was the judge in Newman and Kramer's court day. So was the lady hitting on George at the party during his wedding ring experiment. And many of these actors appeared in multiple episodes.
