Oohh, today was one of those days... let me tell you. I spent a very overwhelming and rough day, I was literally flooded by all the tasks I needed to achieve, they would just happen one after the other somehow; I didn't have any me time, can you imagine that ! So after ages of hardworking, I tried to get myself home as quickly as I could. As soon as I arrived and after that stressful day, I definitely did need to switch off and just relax in my couch, lounging around and staring at the ceiling for almost an hour to recharge. Thank you teacher for your channel, i open KZbin specifically for you guys 😭🫶🏻

With life being so stressful and full of uncertainties lately. I was thinking about how I managed to get my mind off reality's chaos on my way. Once I got myself home, I lounged around at home for a while. It was like there was nothing left in my reserves- physically, mentally, or emotionally. It was just one of those times when even the simplest tasks felt like a struggle. I decided to indulge in a little self-care. I threw on one of my favorite tv series-Gilmore Girls, grabbed a bowl of popcorn, and settled in for a cozy night on the couch. Sometimes, the simplest pleasures were the best medicine for a tired mind and body.

Wow - thanks for sharing so much with and well done for making so many great sentences! Sometimes there's nothing better than plopping down on the sofa and watching one of your favourite shows that you've watched a million times before! (Gilmore Girls is a 'comfort show' for a lot of people, like Friends and other light-hearted shows). Hopefully your next few weeks will be a little less stressful!

when it is just one of those days and I'm feeling really exausted, I just stare through the bus window on my way to home. Arriving to home, I put my phone silent and tackle chores in order to get my mind off of work. From time to time I feel like I'm not able neither to do something, nor even just to speak. In such case I veg out on the sofa and the best way to recuperate is sleeping. With life being so stressful lately in Ukraine, it's really important to keep healthy relationships and support your relatives and friends. So, I must collect myself and despite my mood call to them and ask what's up. As a distracting point that helps you stop thinking about the war could be studing. So, that's why I'm really grateful to you for this channel. Thank you a lot!

Hi from Rome. I' m an English teacher. You had a wonderful idea to compare Emglish and American versoons....I ' am always listening to you. I' d like to ask you something though.. Most times you specify if a phrase sounds wierd in the other language but sometimes you don't....so I I remain willing to know the difference. For example when Mark uses the phrase I'm buried with work is that used even by Americans or not? You are super good teachers! I thank you so much
@highlevellistening10 ай бұрын
Most of our classes use vocabulary that is perfectly fine to use in both accents, which is great and easier for our students! We usually make a note in class if something is "very American" or "very British" because if Mark says something that really sounds different to me, we will make a note in the class notes. It's generally when it comes to bits of vocabulary (like the car is really different!) and sometimes grammar that we differ (Americans use more past tense, Brits often use present perfect), maybe occasionally some full phrases but we try to mention it in the lesson. It might be nice to do some back and forth of words that are completely different, just to give our students some clarification. Thanks for your suggestion!
