Goes to show even the most avid fisherman can have a bad day! Persistence pays when trying to catch fish. I used to fish those jetties a few times a week and know how rough it can get. I had to rig my beach comber bike to to hold all my gear so I could ride all the way down. The walk is killer with all the gear and a small live well. I’m Glad to see you didn’t get swept off the rocks. Thanks love the video.

That is awesome bro, I have caught snook from that jetty long ago when I use to fish it every weekend. Also I have caught a barracuda from there too, some strange catches. Its a great jetty to fish, it just gets way too crowded at times.

Congrats on your first snook. They've been making a huge comeback in Texas for the past several years. Ive been catching them more often since Hurricane Ike. Whatever that means. Had a huge one shake my lure right at the rocks at the Port O Connor little jetties not long ago. Invest in a jetty cart and waterproof bag. I have a soft cooler and put my moisture sensitive items in waterproof containers and put the containers in a soft cooler inside my jetty cart. Never had issues with swells coming over and destroying my gear even when waves were so big they knocked me on my ass on the jetties.
@fiSHINsanity5 жыл бұрын
Also, the soft coolers i use are the buccees ones for $20 and i have a daiwa soft cooler that i use. Good enough for a days use bc i dont necessarily need them to hold ice for more than 8-10hrs.

Awesome video Mark and thanks for sharing life's adventures. I have a question please. I seriously just bought 3 of those 3700 Plano Waterproof Trays. My question is this, do you think if you would of had all 3 of the latches locked it would of taken on less water? I think the fact that it floated with all the gear in it was a blessing. Tight Lines and Full Limits to Ya.!

Mark you should try king mackerel fishing at Surfside. Fish at June or July and look for east wind 10 to 15 mile. Have a surf rod and a foot of wire tied to it with a size 1 triple hook. Bait choices is a 6 to 8 inches mullet free lining
