Ohhh nooo you showed them the secret of the Quintana jetties! I love that place. So many great memories there. I had a buddy catch a kingfish one epic day there also. I couldn’t believe it. Thanks for sharing

Just started watching your videos about a week ago. My fiancé and I went out & tried some of your methods & today we finally caught some really nice trout! We’ve been fishing Surfside and Quintana for about a year and never had any luck , now that’s all changed. Thanks for the videos 😊

#protip When the water clarity is an issue, and the shrimp are small, like they are now (brownie season), in the place of a split shot under the bobber, i will tie on an 1/8oz chatter weight and then about 18-24"s of 25lb flourocarbon leader to my size 10 treble hook. To ensure less line twist and better range of motion and presentation, I'll use a loop knot connection from the bottom of the chatter weight to the leader. The chatter weight helps attract the specks to the small shrimp and helps keep the shrimp down in thr strike zone. #tightlines

I go the the Surfside jetty and the wind blows in my face from the East side. I pack up and drive to the Quintana side and the wind blows in my face from the West side. The fish gods must want me to fish in the channel.
@halcofdrops5 жыл бұрын
Quintana side can actually be way better than surfside. The perfect conditions is a SW wind when the brazos is running low. Makes the water much clearer.

I’m going to go to the the surf side jetties in a few weeks and I suck at saltwater fishing but I’m going to try and catch some reds, jacks and Spanish mackerel will they be at the jetties in the heat of the summer? And what can I catch them on? big spoons and swim baits or something else?

Those trout aren't feeding aggressively enough to be hooking them good, which is why you hooked them and lost them. They are not taking that bait in. I watched another video, assuming it was as recent as the last day or two, and they were doing the same thing.

I'm about to give up on fishing man, I've been there 3 times and all I catch are the rocks or small fish. I have lures, spoons, hooks, live shirmp, what the hell am I doing wrong? My one friend that "knows" about fishing asks me how to do knots, I just need someone to help me out man, is fun but not worth the headache when I cant figure out what to do I've been to Freeport and a few ponds, sigh!!!

Whats the best place to go fishing in houston with out a license
@fiSHINsanity5 жыл бұрын
The fish market. If you're too cheap to pay for a license, which helps support the fisheries, then i suggest you just keep buying your fish....unless of course you're under the age of 17. In which case im sure others will be more than willing to help.
