That was an awesome video! How to you like the s2000 as a track car? I heard they weren't great because of snap oversteer. I've only got about 8 track days under my belt. Man you were giving that gts a run for the money! I'm still trying to learn how to heal toe. I have a AA level 2 supercharged e92 m3 with app racing radical breaks. Everything else stock. A heavy car for the track but oh well.

Hey man, great video! Quick question. I'm soon going to buy that diff and wanted to know if it made any different sounds. Specifically a whining sound? If so how bad? Thanks for the help man!

It definitely is a bit noisier than OEM, but not by a whole lot. If you've ever seen onboard footage of GT cars where when they're modulating between lifting and applying throttle and heard that mechanical whine during the transitions, it's a bit like that. There is also a slight bit more of an on/off feel to the throttle, you can feel the "bite" from the clutches when it locks up. Hope you enjoy the diff dude!

Excellent driving! is LSD normal(street) setting? or custom Track setting?

staryjuju (im nkt the owner so i cant specifically answer) an os giken is a clutch type lsd as compared to the stock torsen diff. he probably has it set as a 1.5 which means it will lock more on accel than it will on decell, so there isnt really a track setting or street setting it just depends really

I also realize that the upgraded lsd will help with snap oversteer. I'd want to daily my s2000 as well if I bought one.

Chris 123 hey man, im not an expert or anything but i thought id clear a few things up. an s2000 would not "snap" oversteer, because it had a pretty even weight distribution (50/50 i believe or somewhere close to it) yes because the car is rwd and front engine it will oversteer but it does not "snap" that refers to a rear or mid engined car that literally snaps around whilst breaking in a corner because of the weight transfer because of all the weight in the rear of the car if you were to break suddenly in a turn the momentum would transfer forward while the front is still turning causing the car to snap around. In terms of oversteer in general yes a clutch type lsd like the os giken could help with the rediction of that, but it wouldnt help snap oversteer because snap oversteer has notbing to do with the locking of the wheels

Ok. Thx. Looks like a great track car. Some I've talked to says it's not a good track car because it's twitchy at high speeds. But u seem to b doing fine.

That's not really the case with S2000's specifically though, and snap oversteer is actually a driving characteristic of the car. Although it is considered an FR setup, the S2000 is unusual in that it's engine sits behind the front axle, effectively making it a "front-mid" engine car; as such, it's prone to mid-engine driving characteristics such as snap oversteer. Anywho, just thought I'd throw that out there, haha. I know this is a year old post on a two year old video, but it's something interesting about the car at any rate.

The drive out of corners is incredible compared to the oem torsen. I noticed that I was able to brake much later with the rear staying planted all the way through turn-in, and you can gradually transition into oversteer as you feed in more throttle on corner exit instead of the front pushing. Grip is also noticeably improved mid-corner and the car seems to pivot around the rear axle while putting the power down rather than just kicking out once it begins to slip.

Interesting, I think I notice the exact entry/exit quirks you're talking about. My rear currently feels like it grips/slips/grips/slips on corner entry if I try to trail brake it deep. I don't have any aero yet however. It also seems to understeer as I add throttle on exit, unless I aggressively add throttle and break the rear loose. Very helpful, thanks!

An aftermarket clutch type differential turns the car into a different animal especially if you reduce final gearing

Brian Kim Boost won't be in the works until at least next year, still have way too much chassis tuning to do first. Standalone EMS is amazing, worth it alone for lowered vtec engagement and a good pro tune.
