Easily waterproof your mast. Extent the tube, that reaches down into the sole, from a few inches to a foot, above the top of the cabin. Measure, and mark the mast where it comes out. Make an inverted cone that will fit snug over the tube, and seal the top of it to the mast with Marine Tex?

The ropes that fix your multi part main sheet to the boom are obviously well attached with what look like bowlines however the free ends beyond the knots seem to be fraying with the core of the rope poking out in places. Is this a permanent fix or are you going to tidy them up ? Please forgive me if I am mistaken but I have spent quite a bit of time squinting at the attachments.

Allen, that brings me to a question of when you're below while underway, say catching a nap, do you have any way to alert you if wind surges beyond what's best for the number of sail panels exposed ?

@@RoversAdventureThanks. But what if you were in an extremis situation for a long time and fell asleep in complete exhaustion with full reefed sail. Is there any other way to get an audible signal. I guess I'm wondering if you could rig a line to feel tension in the sheet; say by having the string deflect the sheet offline in existence conditions, then stronger winds should pull the sheet straight and pull on the cord activating an alarm below deck....? Definitely a MacGyver, but I guess that's how so many features accepted today came about.
