(S3 Ep105) Spanish Mackerel Surfside Jetty Freeport TX

When the green water returns to the jetties so does the spanish mackerel! They were all up and down the jetty rocks crushing the tiny minnows. These guys have a gluttonous appetite that any angler can take advantage of by casting out a 1/2 to 3 oz spoon.

Way to crush those smacks Mark. Jacks are definitely out there got me a 40” the other day and lost about 5 when they went down the rocks. The schools were crazy big and were at the end of the jetty for about 1.5 hrs. 👌🏼

Man I'd love to get out there. However, last year I went to the jetty after your Spanish mack vids, boy there was a massive crowd even during the week. Even got hung up with another angler's spoon, SOB just un-did the snag and threw my spoon to the rocks. I'll stick to the kayak.

Not sure, I didn’t catch any when I was at the Galveston jetty. Also Galveston County is now on Stay At Home orders. Freeport was dead today. No fish being caught by anyone.

Great day to fish Mark! Shoulda brought a cooler and done a C&C. With this "stay home, work safe" being place for harris, Fort bend, and Galveston counties, do you think Can we still fish?
