28:00 - Presumably, that will mean that the inserters will be told to leave a single piece of cable in the spaceship. However, due to hand size, you're probably completely fine because there will be 12 in there which means 11 to take out and the inserter will grab all 12. This will work as long as we don't have a shortage in the space port in Norbit which means that a partial grab gets loaded. Although even then, as long as you don't have n*hand size + 1 loaded in a warehouse, it will still work fine. Summary: It's technically a problem but will probably never happen

Yeah, you're right - it's probably an edge case. Still, I feel it would be nice to subtract that piece of cable, just for the sake of neatness and correctness!

While naq is paused, maybe produce some naq panels?

Not a bad idea! I think they are being produced steadily, but we could increase that. I did see some of it flowing in this video though, so I think demand might have started up again!

25:55 - When you put it like that, it does seem like quite a long winded process 😀 (not saying we should change it, just amused at how many steps there are)

Yeah, the junk (excluding raw materials) disposal is relatively small quantities of many different types of item, so pushing them through the logistics bot system makes sense, I think. And bringing them down with all the rest of the junk also makes sense.

25:00 I think we shouldn’t rely on some trash belts only having a certain type on them. That’s gonna bite us sometime

The middle belt was added to just take clean scrap from material science because it was making so much of it. In theory, that shouldn't be used by anything else, but yes - you're right, theory is just theory and at some point, someone's going to put a 3-3 balancer on that scrap bus and break everything! Putting in a filter would be relatively easy. I'll add it to the list 🙂

For scrap why no belt balancing for the scrap spine? Legacy/SEP?
@giantlobster3 ай бұрын
The middle belt is purely scrap from material so balancing would have to be careful of that. For the most part, there hasn't really been any need for it. I think all the slow downs have either been due to processing speed (which the upgrade Laurence described will help with) or bursty production. Material science, for example, will produce a huge amount of scrap for 5 minutes and then nothing for an hour so we don't need to process all that scrap in that 5 minutes (numbers are an example, I don't know how accurate they are - it's probably substantially more than an hour because there isn't much left that uses material science - maybe just spaceship size. This means it would basically only be used up for the insights for significant data)

I can solve all your vulcanite faff-disasters with a single word: Belts. delete all those trains!
@LaurencePlays3 ай бұрын
That would be horrifically expensive, and also a pain to balance... That's pretty much what we have on Taras for the imersite and it ... sort of works, but imersite is lower throughput. No, I don't think belts would be better - the system at full load uses something like 8 purple belts of vulcanite ore, and I don't want to run that much beltage all the way from the mines!
