At academy they sell rulers that stick on the underside of your rods. There is a charcoal colored one (can’t remember the brand) that holds up well.

About how far out down the jetty were you. Been probably 15 years since I fished the south jetties, I hear you can't park on the beach anymore, so I guess it's a bit of a walk now. Been fishing strictly the west end for quite a while. I like parking by the water and not paying to get on the surf. Good vid, makes me anxious.

How you get to the north or south jetty after you get off the ferry?
@jstrom30073 жыл бұрын
I'm right there with yea at Seawolf Park, but I was there on Saturday, October 24 fishing it was practically dead. The parking lot was super packed and a lot of people fishing but no rod bending. I went fishing on my boat water conditions 76 degrees, 10-15 mph winds during the day with low tide, sunset winds est. 5-9 mph, day 80s and evening 70-60s. Man o' man towards the evening glass water conditions between Fort Travis Park and Bolivar Ferry it was so beautiful sky looked like a bed of cotton, the colors of the skies was rich of purple, orange red, yellow while the sun was descending. Cargo Ships in the distance they looked like a carnival boats. If I wasn't fishing with family I'd probably would have sat there and wait until the sun would go down. I launched from Texas City around 3PM and hit several locations Pelican Cut, SS Selma, Seawolf Park both sides, Galveston Ferry Terminal towards south, Pelican Island Causeway, Fort Point USMC Reserve Center, South Jetty was choppy, Broken Bridge area some of these areas had fish but 1-2 catches than it was dead. In the evening I go fed up my fish finder showed fish, but we weren't catching 4 people on a boat and none of us caught any limit. Fed up I return to Seawolf park and fished south of Seawolf about 1/3rd mile away from the ship. There was nobody around us when we anchored up and afterwards I launched the green light and chum bag. My mom didn't like fishing in the dark, so I busted out a telescopic light that lit up the entire area of my boat. We waited about 30 minutes actually ate dinner when I look down on my green light there were a lot of small bait fish roaming around our boat. We didn't catch any limit of red or trout but caught a ho, ho, hole a lot of large Crocker's. We filled up both of our ice chest and two 5lbs buckets. I think I got home around 4AM on Sunday the fishing Gods hooked us up.

Man you should really try over here inside the flood gates. I've gotten a lot of flounder and reds over there and it always produces. Looks like a hot spot for kayak fishing cause there out there everytime. Tight lines!

Hey hey... Mark, how you doing... the weather guys are not what they used to be. Seems l ike 4 years ago they couldn't miss... not the case now. Gonna sit back and enjoy the show. Thank you. Mark, wonder how you would have done there with Shrimp on the bottom... Would that have been good flounder water?

Not sure. I like to think that if they're there, I could probably get them to bite. 😂

Loved the channel first of all. Caught my first flounder on the flatts buggs this year. Thanks for the tip. Secondly, I live in Dallas area and rely on the anglers that way to locate different places to fish. Would it be possible to identify your location when fishing for us who don't know the area well. Seawolf was pretty easy but the other location no clue. I know folks are not inclined to give locations but it would be a great help. I plan on making one more trip down there soon. Thx!
