you can also use the streamer hanging in front of the windscreen to give you clues on your direction and velocity. If you are stationary the streamer will be limply hanging. (insert favorite joke here)

And you can of course - in a hoover - turn the nose in any direction with out interfering with the auto pilot?

Negative, actually. The auto-hover will override ALL your control inputs. Realistically speaking that is with the exception of the collective, but Polychop even added that to make the weapon systems usable for solo pilots. The only way to change your azimuth during hover I'm aware of is using the camera system in conjunction with the auto-slave function.

Hi there, as far as I remember it's only the collective that you wouldn't get in a real Gazelle. In DCS they actually mirrored that, so as soon as you have a human copilot rather than doing both jobs at once you will lose that specific autopilot mode.

Wish the autopilot in the ka50 would be that easy to use. Still struggling with that.

KA-50 is easier to use it you ask me. Gazelle is a very picky helicopter. Much easier to get the KA-50 to do what you want. You just have to understand how it works. Once you learn all the systems you will realize how easy it is to use.

Not directly. But you will notice that your ADI indicator will be suspiciously centered and your control inputs are overridden. So just move the stick a bit and if nothing happens you're good.

@@billthebold Yes. The Gazelle IRL does not have the collective assist it gets ingame. Without that it would be a major pain to fly solo (which IRL you just wouldn't do), so they added it as a little helper. The moment you have someone in the commander's seat that goes away however.
