Absolutely loving the design walkthrough of Saab , always wanted a 900 but without the big front bumper, slightly wonky uneven rear lights and different bonnet so you get a clearer and level Bodyline, this is like a dream saab for me can't wait to see this transferred to an car in metal

Having owned a 900 Turbo and enjoyed it immensely, I really appreciate the rendering of the project. Looking forward to the final rendering. One thing I noticed on the rendering (and this is no criticism of your designer) is the same design issue that bothered me when I owned my 900, and that is the enormous front overhang ahead of the front wheels. I believe SAAB did this to get more frontal crush zone in case of an accident, but I felt it always looked out of proportion to the rest of the car. Will be interesting to see if you can come up with something that reduces the visual impact of the overhang.

Fab work chaps. I am partial to a 900. I can’t help thinking you are missing one of the iconic elements of the 900 by making the rear lights one piece. Whilst always sceptical of the aero meddling their advertising used I always thought the twin rear lights were quite successful as a faux nod to fighter jets. Anyway I am sure you are on top of it. Make two and I’m in for the second. 😅

I think the Allegro projects are my favourite projects to come out of your workshop. There is only one thing that bothers me and that is the fact that it would have been really easy and really amazing if atleast one of them was AWD. I built 2 K series awd k10 micras and it wasnt that difficult. I will be uploading updates soon after a long break from youtube, but there are some videos on my channel of both awd micras and my mx5 turbo powered rwd micra

The intake/exhaust venting on the rear arches of the SAAB might look better if they follow the same angled line from the lights, and the front is a bit drab, the grille might help if it's blistered to accentuate the vents.

Was thinking, you could do with something similar to the crash mats you find in gyms, or around trampolines. About 500x2000mm. Either for situations like kneeling next to a build whilst leaning in through the doors working on interiors such as dash, electrical, upholstery. And have one kept clean for laying across inside a car. So for situations such as Richard scrabbling around in his back doing the roll bar padding in the TVR. Makes life easier rather than stuff like handbrakes gear leavers or door sills making you appreciate what Julius Cezar felt like before saying “et tu allegro.” More comfortable you are, the more you can concentrate on the Job at hand. I’ve rigged up something like this in the past when trying to sort stuff under the dash, having to somehow limbo in and out of the drivers side footwell.

I'd be more worried about materials that can catch fire from grinding, cutting or welding. I was using an old thin mattress beneath a car I was working on one evening, a stray spark set it on fire beneath the rear axle, before I could quell the flames the fire had badly damaged the all new paint job around the rear of the car, I could have lost the car, workshop and possibly personal injury. Lesson learned big time. Strap on type gardener knee pads are helpful when having to kneel at the side of a vehicle.

I get it that on that side of the Atlantic Ocean many of the names you use are very different to what we use in the land of freedom here in the US. I don't see any real difference or reason for preference for either English or American words, but what has always puzzled me is why you refer to a lift or hoist as a "ramp". It seems that the word ramp has the same meaning in England as it does here in the US, so I don't understand why hoists or lifts are called ramps. Any thoughts or theories as to the origin of this naming convention?
