If you can find the later model gear box with the reinforcements on the outside of the castings it might be better. I tore up and rebuilt a bunch of the other kind.I sort of remember people running 3 spd cast iron gear boxes w 4 spd internals as well

Brian that's an old Saab 99 tank I'm pretty sure.. You may have seen the all metal version in books and that was veeeery early 99 tank..Both those are problems though because of the large size of the connecting pipe...Much better is to look at the routing for saab 900, the real ones '79 thru 93.. or find a 240 Volvo...they connect via a small 8mm or 5/16" hose to the TOP of the tank then return taken off the bottom and then to a T in heater return hose.. Works marvelous, bleeds the air pockets in the V4 heads, and engine is much happier..(Air isn't coolant, and it gets hot with 2 exhaust valves right next to eachother, so venting the air from the heads is vital) I started using Volvo tanks because the guys at the wrecking yards said "Oh we got plenty cause they never break" Some are flatish and some are round like a fat sausage...Did it was back in 1987 and no more overheat, far more stable temps and less headgasket issues even with 11.3 compression and rally usage.

Hey thanks! Since any 99 tank is going to be hard to find here in the US, I think I'm going to go with the old 900 tank, I like how the hoses will line up and the single attaching bolt in the center. Now to find the appropriate "T" connector.

Ihan harrastekäyttöön, ratapäiville ja sen sellaiseen. Kaaret on seitkytluvun perua, niin kuin melkein kaikki muukin... :D
