Excellent tutorial. I have been a certified aircraft mechanic since 18 y o and I am 78 yo now. I have worked on planes, cars, outboard motor boats and have 12 Saab 900 's. This year I bought my first 9-3. I have watched dozens of how to fix it tutorials over the years. This is by far the very best one I have seen. Thank you for a percise and complete process.

Replaced front wheel bearing week ago, 2006 9-3 1.9 diesel estate. Did it without removing lower arm ball joint or steering track rod end. No need to pull drive shaft out has bearing comes out and off drive shaft when bolts removed. 👍 Keep steering straight ahead for top bolt, straight extention bar on ratchet other bolts need the steering wheel on full lock for each bottom two bolts, left full lock for one right full lock for other. Good clean up, copper slip where needed bit of high melting point grease on drive shaft splines on reassembly. New nut was supplied along with new bolts. Bit of blue (none hardening) thread lock used. Serviced brakes too. Nice and quiet now, no more whine noise. 😉👍👍👍👍

AWD Rear is slightly different in that you probably have to remove sway bar and lower control arm to get access to last bottom bolt for the wheel bearing.

It is recommended to use copper paste when installing parts of the car's chassis. Does not rust after the parts are closed.

Hey man sorry to comment on a older vid. I've got a 08 aero xwd. When I I stopped and turn and try to drive left or right it sounds like I get a rubble and slight vibration from the back passenger wheel. My car has 70k or 43 thousand miles. I have a xwd service kit I was going to use asap from eaaabparts. I assumed I have a bad wheel bearing as when I drive the car straight at any speed there is no sounds or vibrations that I assumed a bad xwd would give. But at hwy speeds 100km or 60mph or above I get a very slight shimmy of ny steering wheel. I will jack the car up now in a few minutes and try to give my back wheel a jiggle

Hi Good work but.. A big No no to apply anything on the hub.. that way only the bolts to the wheels is taking all the forse from the wheel when you hit the brake and so on. I know that alot of people do this but its not good. Never do this on the front hubs. Just a friendly warning. I use breake cleaner and make the surfaces as clean and flat as possible. Especially on old brake discs. You can get vibrations from the rear wheel if you are unlucky.. otherwise nice done. :) Im on to replace the left front wheel bearing on my 08 :)
