One of the best reviews, in my opinion, of this car. Didn't sound biased and I felt like you either took the time to learn the vehicles features or you already knew about them. Wish more reviews were like this.

I test drove a ATS and I was really surprised. It was smooth and gave great power for a four cylinder. And the car was really attractive. I was in a red light and I look around and every body looking at the car from each corner. I felt proud of having this car. But there aiming I don't like is the sensitive touches in the CUE system.

Excellent review. Congrats. For the ones interested in owning, this is the best driver centric car in its class. ATS should be driven to understand what it's offering. I'm planning to buy the 2018 model since ATS is getting CUE 3. Go past the Consumer Reports reviews and do your own research to find how amazing this car is, for it's class. For the German badge lovers, buy whatever makes you happy.

Toronto_NDN as an ATS owner myself, I'll admit it's had two major problems that needed warranty work. 1, the intercoler for the turbos needed to be replaced (noticed my engine temp running slightly higher than normal). 2, my cue system stopped responding to touch input. Lucky for me, I had the 50k bumper to bumper warranty along with the 70k power train. If the powertrain does fail, I'm dropping a v8 in it lol. Also I can't speak on the awd system or auto as I have the rwd manual. I will say this though, if you maintain the interior well, that leather will last decades (have the red interior and haven't seen any color changing/fading). Caddy uses true premium materials unlike the Germans and their "MB -Tex" leather. Going on 5 years and the interior looks like the day it was bought, minus some wear on the drivers seat, and some self inflicted scuffs on the will plates from uncaring friends.

(i’m 21 but drive this caddy like an old man), so i wish i would have opted for one of the 2 liters which has even better MPG; possibly even 30 avg on the base 2 liter.

I love how the 3.6 V6 sounds. It has a low growl missing from a lot of new compact executive sedans. I'd argue it sounds better than the C350 3.5 DI 302hp V6; oddly enough I actually think the older C350 3.5 MPI 272hp V6 sounds BETTER than the newer more powerful DI unit. On the flipside, the 2.0T sounds meh at best. The car is fine and I think it's the better overall engine for the ATS (adequate power & good fuel economy), but it doesn't sound as special. Plus, having driven the C350 302hp V6 for sometime, it be hard to settle for a 4cyl again. I wish Cadillac equip their motors with start-stop function though.
@IKhanNot
@IKhanNot 10 жыл бұрын
I actually agree. I have an 06 C280 with the M272 V6 and it sounds great and feels very smooth. It doesn't clatter about like the new DI motor and weirdly enough the Cadillac DI motors are much quieter than the German offerings.

@kingfarticusreturns6371
@kingfarticusreturns6371 4 жыл бұрын
There's just no substitute for a naturally aspirated V6. Numbers don't tell the whole story. The smoothness and the linearity of the acceleration, not to mention the sound more than offset any concessions in the 0-60 0-100 numbers game some of these 2.0 turbos win. And besides, accelerating from 0-60 on a closed course misses the point. Roads are rarely straight. I'm much rather have the V6 going up a mountain pass than a stupid 2.0 turbo.

Very good video with information. I looked at another on the ATS where the reviewer showed the center pass through, and actually said there was no folding down seats. Upon just seeing this, I have to admit I got excited. Thinking about getting this car. I think that Cadillac will put an 8 speed in later to replace the 6 speed, and I hope they change the guage cluster to an all digital configurable one like in the XTS.

can the gauge test sweep be any slower? At least they're not totally virtual gauges.

Do you have any plans to review a newer Nissan Maxima or the 2013 Altima?

I had to choose between the '14 c-class or this ats. I decided on getting the ats. The c-class has no headroom, which is depressing considering I'm only 6 ft. Plus, I prefer the cadillac's interior and exterior design. It looks a lot better in person; photos and videos just don't do it justice.

I'm 6 3 Hows the backseat legroom for passengers?

Honestly the legroom back there is horrible. I use the car mostly just for me and sometimes one other person. The use of the back seats are very occasional. If you carry around 3 other people often I would recommend a more family friendly sedan like an Audi A3.

Matthew L. I always wondered why they say it competes with the A4 and not A3? The A3 is pretty small. Dam I really wanted the ATS I would have to see how much of a difference the CTS would be.

Will i need aftermarket shocks to lower this with Eibach pro kit?

Very awesome car. You should have showed more of the 2.0T interior though. I just love that tanned leather with the beautiful looking wood grain. But black leather, aluminum trim and black piano veneer is good as well I guess.
