Hi Wasswa, you are right that everyone does things a bit differently! Rather than diving into this idea, you might be better off finding an idea that you (or someone you know well) have more background knowledge about. Doesn't an app called Anchor already do the first idea?
@jaasssppppeeeerrrrr2 жыл бұрын
Both ideas 2 & 6 could quite easily be built internally using Stacker. Full disclosure, I work there, though I think using a no-code tool like Stacker would be a great way to build MVPs for these ideas. For example, with idea 2, you could start out by building a custom applicant tracker app in Stacker for a few paying clients & validate the idea --> see what early users like & don't like --> iterate and improve --> nail down a version with a clear path to PMF --> build into a dedicated SaaS product.
@gidd2 жыл бұрын
I appreciate this comment Do you think 2 & 6 have potential to be big?
@jaasssppppeeeerrrrr2 жыл бұрын
@@gidd That I wouldn't be able to speak to as I haven't dedicated any time towards validating either one. However, using no-code tools helps make this part of the process much easier (of course, you'll also need to put some time in towards starting conversations & marketing your solution). That all in mind, if Rob is suggesting these ideas, then I'd say they're solid jumping off points at the very least. With the depth of knowledge and experience he has to work with, I'd be surprised to see any idea he suggests drastically miss the mark.

You know that Stripe offers checkout pages that you can just integrate, right? It is technically a pre form of the pricing page
@wassamness2 жыл бұрын
A checkout page targets the checkout process not the pricing page and because Stripe supports all types of businesses and not just SaaS. A checkout page is a common denominator and makes sense for Stripe. A SaaS pricing page is a bit more niche though technically Stripe could do it. Edit. Just realized Stripe has already built Pricing pages for SaaS , ignore everything I said.

@johnpslick62392 жыл бұрын
Most developers aren't very good at sales or marketing, so you are well positioned to be complementary. I've done both and I prefer development, though it's more work, it's not as frustrating - actually the opposite as you get better at it, it's very rewarding to write code all day that works the first time. Plus I have code that is running all around the world that I wrote over 20 years ago. There is no equivalent for me in sales, though maybe there is in marketing, but that was luck and timing. Just my advice but make sure you really trust whoever you partner with - if your idea is that good, you could find yourself together and if you know you have each others backs, then success is easier and more worthwhile and failure is much more.. temporary. Good luck!

I work with different teams across the world who are always talking about integrations between softwares they wish they had. Is there any place I can put these ideas out there as a crowdfunded bounty that pays whoever codes the process? If that doesn’t exist, it needs to.
@MicroConf2 жыл бұрын
Hi Thyme, we've not heard of any place like this.
@johnpslick62392 жыл бұрын
So you are saying a site where people submit things they need, and other people jump on - agreeing with them, and when there is enough demand, a developer (or group) can come along and offer to build it and maybe get some guaranteed customers if it meets some set of requirements? If so, that's very interesting. It would have to be VERY simple ideas with very well specified requirements. And in those cases, I think the coders in the worlds worst economic zones would be able to win on price, but top support is going to be from people that speak the same language and ideally are familiar with the problem set on a business level. Or maybe whoever can finish a product spec first would get first chance to win. It sort of turns producthunt on it's head - solutionhunt (already taken) or something.
