A smsl sa300 was given to me as a gift and tried it as a desktop solution. I would say any amp below $200 that sounds decent is worth it. Can it compete with $500 amp? not even close. My sa300 is now in the storage collecting dust. My advice, save up for at least a denon or marantz at the $400 to $500 range. It will sound way better than any of these sub $200 chi-fi stuff.

it does sound like too much praise for a 100$ product, coming from you reviewing and using hi end stuff. if this is so good, why are all the more well known amps both much bigger and more expensive? why there is no NAD amp for instance, at this size and price?
@Beathoven0073 жыл бұрын
There is a lot of trash on youtube but the power of it is that someone with an own opinion about gear can in theory stay an independent reviewer since the source of income "doesn't have to be" from direct sponsorship from manufacturers like in the past. I think he is honest about outlining his personal taste and what fits in it. Also keeps the doors open to people who prefer different flavors. I appreciate that.
