Well Soviets and Germans sign a Ribbentrop-Molotov pact. It was non-agression pact a pact about spheres of influence in Europe. Soviet sphere was Baltic, Finland, Moldova and East Poland. Germans was Balkan and West Europe. Soviet union and German Reich have many trade pacts about oil, steel and wheat before 1941. Yes Soviets do much in war in Europe but Soviet infrastructure and logistics war in 1941 damaged and many factories was literally send behind Ural mountains. Lend-lease project and military and food supplies from USA and Great Britain do much for Soviets war effort. Hundreds of tons of food a thousands to tens of thousands of war equipment life tanks and airplane. But hundreds of thousands truck like Stuckbaker 6ton help most. Some Soviet air aces fly on US made fighters like P-39 Aircobra. Those pilots love this aircraft. P-39, P-47, P-40 and B-24 and B-17 was transferred to Soviet Union through Alaska and Far East.

The history being told is not quite right. Firstly, of cause, Hitler and Stalin split Poland that started the war, and Hitler invaded Sudetenland and Austria prior. But, Stalin and Lenin invaded several countries prior to the war also, not to speak of the countries they invaded during the deal with Germany. This was also true for Japan. When Germany gone after France they was basically in a civil war, the reason they broke so fast. If they where not, Germany might have encountered issues already there. In 1941 When Germany reach Moscow they was over run to the degree that there solders did not have neither boots nor rifles. USSR was basically dead. Here is where history started to be mostly wrong. USSR actually never recovered. There industry was so broken apart that they could not field a equipped army. They did still have some equipment left. They could build tanks, but no engines. They could build aircrafts, but no engines. They also losed the ability to make rifles. They was pretty much dead in the water and all Germany got to do was mopping up. Then everything change. USSR struck a deal with UK for Boots, rifles, engines, lots of engines, and.. machine tools (the last would turn out to be very important later). The first sort of emergency relief shipping came in the middle of the battle of Moscow. One month later, and the rail depot would probobly been under German control. USSR then got shipping from first UK then both UK and USA almost every second week until the very end of the war. It was really not needed, by late 1943 to early 1944 USSR already got uper hand. So this is where history really get FU. USSR threatened to pulled out of the war if they didn´t keep delivering stuff, and at the later part, especially machine tools. Machine tools is machines to make other machines. Typically they can make engines, guns, pretty much everything. Its basically a factor flattpack. USSR got the ability from those machine tools to produce a lot of trucks, planes, tanks, but also boots and uniforms. Those was put into full service. But why did USSR want them at the very last month of the war. There was just no way they could put them up, start producing and have the equipment on the front line before the end of the war. Well.. The machine tools was never ment for WWII, they was ment for the cold war. So the alies basically gave the machines to USSR to attack them self a few years later. This part if history is supreced in the west... due to obvious reasons, but also in the east. So when US soldiers was attacked in Korea by "Ford trucks" it was really not ford trucks, it was trucks made in a USSR factory from a exported ford assembly line. So, even worse. No USA joined fairly early int the war. 2 years in in a 6 year war. That also worth saying that first half year of the war really not much was happening. You probobly have it confused with the first war when USA joined just a few month away from the end. It also worth saying that UK bought loads of equipment from USA prior to USA joing the war. So US industry was actually spooling up prior to joning the war, so USA unlike UK hit the war running. I make a post under what battle US had some or large part in.
