It's not a Sabaton Original. It's a cover of Radio Tapok "Битва за Москву" (Battle of Moscow). kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6iTm4R4gcebgrc Radio Tapok have done a lot of Sabaton covers in Russian, so this is a tribute to them from the guys in Sabaton.

Radio Tapok got to release the Sabaton song 'March of the Dead Men' in Russia before the release of the single/album (The Great War album) to promote the album. That's how close the relationship between Radio Tapok and Sabaton is in their promotions in the Russian-speaking part of the world.

This song was made by their friend Radio Tapok, who actually were the lead singer on the song Attack of the Dead in the show in Moscow in 2020, or was it 2019?

What's interesting about the solo is they incorporated the Russian national anthem.

It was actually Tommy who adapted this song to Sabaton style and it was his idea to put Russian anthem in the solo

@@melkor3496 The melody is the same, the lyrics are not. I think it's important to distinguish, because the solo was meant to honour the people of the Soviet Union as a whole, not only Russians.

Sabaton decided to sing about the Defense of Moscow. And this is really one of the most difficult battles in terms of the number of dead battles. The Defense of Moscow is one of the turning points in World War II. The 'other' guitarist is Chris Rorland, joined 2012. Released as a single in 2021, The battle of Moscow WWII ,Oct '41- Jan '42. Yes, they have a couple songs video game related. Wargaming , who make World of Warships and World of Tanks, helped them make the videos for Bismarck and Steel Commanders.

Ah hah! That makes great marketing sense for Sabaton! I was gonna say, you just gave them an idea... And Chris O hits me with facts! You all know...I was very slow to warm up to this band...then I watched all their tour vlogs and became really attached to the guys...then the music had a fresh ear from me. If anyone else is on the fence, I highly suggest the vlogs and watching their live concerts...the personalities overrode what ever it was I was slow to connect with.

Steel Commander is connected to a game, world of tanks. I never played it, I am not a gamer. But it's a very good song, if you haven't reacted to it, please do. The only one I'm going to hurt is probably myself. It's heavy snowfall outside and I need to shovel my car out to go grocery shopping

Hearts of Iron 4, which is a WW2 Grand Strategy game (think like Risk, way more complicated) actually has two Sabaton music packs for it. And then there are several fan made mods available for the game that add all of Sabatons music to the game; weighted to play certain songs when certain things are going in the game. For example, 'Rise of Evil' is much more likely to play if your playing Germany in the 1930s. Or 'Attero Dominatus' when Berlin is conquered. 'Defense of Moscow' more likely to play when Moscow is being attacked etc.

The reason they cover war history is because they find it fascinating (not to mention the fact that history is often times greater than any fiction, with so many real life stories they could cover that they would never run out of things to sing about).
