Anime: Daisuki Datta Anata e ~Hibakusha kara no Tegami (To You Whom I Loved the Anime: Letters from Atomic Bombs Victims)
Battle of Surabaya
In this Corner of the World (Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni),(この世界の片隅に)
I'm not the owner of the song! I have no rights to the song! All rights to the song belong to Sabaton and Nuclear Blast!! Also Im not owner of the cartoon videos/anime!!
I was inspired and I decided to make another video because the number of subscribers is growing so you can imagine that this is a gift for the upcoming holidays! I love you all !! A year ago, when I had a thousand more subscribers, I could not imagine that you would all subscribe to me! I am very grateful to you! Apart from you, I have no more friends in my life !!
In the future, videos will be released even less often, because I finally found a job !! But I will work only after the holidays, and the holidays in Ukraine end on January 18))

Thing to remember that despite the animation here... Japaneses cities were still very... Old school at the time, made of wood, bamboo, and paper basically with concrete and steel being too expansive to use until post war. Thats before you add in that Japan is like California with earthquake so was made with that in mind. Which was why the Firebombing was worse then the Nukes, even with the radaition, more people die cause of the Firestorms. ANyways SO the Japanese cities were well... Weakly built, and made to cause little damage while being fast to rebuild after an earthquake, smart all things considering. So the Nukes was basically turbo jet fan blowing on a city of cards. Estimates figure that you need a full fourteen fatman size bombs, those were 25 kilotoners, to do similar to say... Berlin (which was a target if the war stay on) London (if the Nazi Got the bomb) Moscow (Cold War) or New York. Give or depending on the geograghics of the city. Nagaski suffer less damage from the more powerful fatman then Hiroshima did from littleboy cause one city was flat and the other one has all the hills. Hills and big buildings do extremely well at stopping the nuke shockwave. But it was very easy to make a fatman size bomb to have more explosive power.

War harms the common man more than the nation that fight for their own power or protection. But I would add a lesson learned from ww1. @@piglin469 Yeah in a way you are right. The burden of the war was placed on the people. The crash didn't help either. Had a peaceful, centered around mutual agreements rather than total victory we would have just seen ww2 as the USSR aggression. Japan would have still changed into a nationalist nation, though maybe would have joined against Russia and gained more power. Though that might have meant Japan would have never attacked the USA. And I do not think the US would ever join the war. But at the same time nationalist movements like we see today in the US would have grown and we might have seen a new nation created from the political upheaval we see today but back in the 1930's. I still think we might have seen a WW2 though. Just not with the US in it if WW1 had ended differently. An opinion, not based on true fact and purely speculative for this comment.

Yeah, and the Japanese military was training people to fight with broomsticks. The military of Japan was *never* going to surrender, they'd literally kill every last man, woman, and child in their nation before they stood down. Shit, they even tried to ASSASSINATE HIROHITO AFTER THE FIRST BOMB FELL. Hideki Tojo was a rabid dog and as unfortunate as it was, the bombings were needed to essentially terrifying the rest of Japan's military brass into submission and leave him without any support so surrender could be had.

@@jamesricker3997 well I gotta say in my opinion the war crimes Japan committed are not to be understated and we should not forget what happened to innocent people. BUT I do not think that it is a ok thing to do for a democratic Government to decide that after a extremist Regime refused to surrender, that you can just commit your own war crimes to try and solve the problem. And this counts for every nation: the soviets, germans, Japanese, Americans and most likely many other countrys committed crimes against civilians that are not in any way forgivable and must not be forgotten. As a german I do not think that the 3rd reich was a good thing and I do not stand behind the cruelties and genocide they committed but I think from the storys I read and heard from people that there is always two sides in a war and that no one is completely innocent. This comment is not supposed to give hate against any nation. All I want to point out is that it is never ok to kill civilians in a war and then try to make yourself look innocent. To everyone who reads this pls don't get triggered this is just the opinion of a 17 year old that has spend the last 4 years learning about all aspects of ww2. If you have something to say, a correction to some of my points or want to tell me your opinion in a friendly manner pls then feel free to leave me an answer

@@Luksky2701 The thing about Imperial Japan and their utter and complete devotion to the Emperor from about 800 years back till the 40's was that they didn't know how to surrender, nor was surrender a culture concept. Death or Victory, that is what they knew; that is how the generals and the admiralty planned their battles. Bushido was so thoroughly ingrained into them that even after the Pacific Air Force's firebombing campaign and targeting of basically every industry in order to MAKE them capitulate, they would not yield. The propaganda campaign surrounding the "Japanese people's imminent victory" was even more complete and believed than the Nazi's own similar propaganda. IF the nukes were never used, and we went ashore and invaded; the Japanese people would be extinct right now. So, I for one am glad that Operation Downfall never had to happen.

Those innocent people who died, may they rest in peace! The nuclear attack was necessary because Japan wouldn't surrender. And if this attack never happened the people might have survived. But then the amphibious landings by the Allies would have been made. In that case the whole population of Japan might have been killed as they didn't want to surrender. So, this nuclear attack was needed, but still this was really wrong and a war crime in my eyes.
