As the grandson of a WW2 vet, most of you fail to realize that Japan was doomed the minute the Imperial naval force decided to attack Pearl Harbor. This is not only the view of a relative but was also the view of Admiral Yamamoto. Prior to his "aerial assassination" (the P-38H Lightnings VS the two G4M1 Betty bombers) over Boganville in 1943, Yamamoto felt that the Empire of japan made a grave mistake in attacking the U.S. naval fleet because he was aware of the U.S.'s industrial might. Years prior, he had spent time in the U.S. and became very aware of this. Often at times, the Japanese military was horrible at tactical planning. One such example is how the entire Japanese fleet completely ignored the SBD1 Dauntless dive bombers overhead of the carriers at the Battle of Midway. It was a grave mistake to focus their attention on the TBD1 Devastator torpedo bombers. We provided them with the bate and they took it. Also, even though I like Japanese aircraft such as the A6M2 Zero and the KI-46 Tony, mostly all Japanese aircraft lacked self-sealing fuel tanks and proper pilot armor. There was no way they could combat us against fighters like the F6F Hellcat towards the end of the war. A lot of Japan's military might was based in superstition that they were "invincible". We proved that wrong with the Doolittle Raiders in 1942. One of the most arrogant mistakes regarding the safety of the citizens of Japan was that Japan's military forces built military factory plants RIGHT-SMACK-DAB in the middle of civilian territory. They put their own people at risk. It was arrogance that led to the demise of a once strong military. The goal of the B-29's was to annihilate MILITARY INSTALLATIONS only. Most of the crew members of the Enola Gay had no clue as to what was on board. Not even the men of the U.S.S. Indianapolis knew after delivering the first A-bomb to Tinian Island in the Philippines. That ship was later sunk and was marked as the worst U.S. naval disaster in history. These men were not dogs. To quote Colonel Ferebee: "''Then I think we should realize that this can't happen again.'' Most of the men involved did feel sadness after seeing images of the destruction that was caused. I love learning about all sides of the war and I am no "'Murica" type of American person either. My country has done plenty of shameful things. However, PC nonsense and revisionism make me sad to see a childhood pastime of mine go down the drain.

Nanomachines inside their bodies enhance and regulate their abilities. Genetic control. Information control. Emotion control. Battlefield control. Everything is monitored, and kept under control. @deloreanrc5 жыл бұрын
@@michaelbujaki2462 Technically Japan didn't surrender because they only had America to fight (yes the rest of the Allies were against them but it was mostly America). They thought they could bleed teh US dry, and as America was already wiping cities of the map with firebombing campaigns the nukes really didn't affect them much at first. The nukes just lessened teh number of planes and bombs. But when The USSR turned its sights on Japan at teh same time Nagasaki was nuked, they realized "Oh shit now we got TWO superpowers after us and one just killed our only ally left and the other is going to bomb us into non existence. Here is a terrifying thought to consider. Either HEU or Pu239 can be used as the cores in implosion type weapons. These use lenses constructed of plastic explosives of different detonation velocities to turn an expanding shockwave in on itself to form a convergent shockwave. Back in the 1940s it took years too calculate the proper shapes, them months to precision the molds, which were plagued by imprecision and bubbles in the cast explosive. Today a modern laptop could solve the equations for symmetric spherical explosion in minutes, then export to a dual-headed 3D printer that could produce the lenses automatically with micron accuracy. Give a few clever grad students a slightly subcritical mass of fissile material and they can build a weapon in their garage on the cheap.

When a country drops one bomb, they have one bomb. When they drop two, they have more then two
@ronaldthompson49894 жыл бұрын
It was difficult to believe a single plane was responsible they thought it must have been some kind of natural disaster. Then it happened again and they were forced to accept America had a new toy. We threatened to drop one every week until the war ended, and they surrendered. Amusingly, we didnt actually have any more nukes, those 2 shots used the last of the uranium we had at the time, so it was a bluff. Supply issues definitely fixed by now though
@justinzoladz45523 жыл бұрын

Why do some people here think that 250,000 civillian deaths and ending the most destructive war in Human history is worse than dragging it on for at least another year, leading to hundreds of thousands of allied deaths, millions of Japanese casaulties, and a possible N. Korea,S. Korea scenario but in Japan aswell?

@DANIEL PRADO the viciousness of an invasion would've led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians more than the nuclear bombs. the japanese government would've conscripted boys, and the japanese govt would've instructed towns full of civilians to commit suicide (look up "shuden jiketsu") when an american takeover was imminent.
