Especially in Tom's case (or any vlogger) he earned exponentially more with this ~750,000 view video than whatever the guy scammed out of him. Plus whether he's a scammer or not it's useful to have a local with you telling some of the more annoying beggars to get lost (like the people from the bar who followed) and it can help avoid actual muggings/assaults as well. Someone like Tom who's not a big, strong looking guy, who presumably has no combat training, he benefits a lot from having a guy like Masdin around, even if Masdin is attempting low-level scams and expecting payment at the end.

When they first sat to drink Masdin was worried the others didn’t want Tommy shooting his video, and warned him to hide his camera. But as soon as he had a drink in him, Masdin suddenly could care less , and told Tommy to take his videos as much as he wants- hilarious!, he changed his tune as soon as the alcohol hit!

@@chrisdovrik2894 I'd say Masdin did good for a tour guy. He wasn't cheap, but I can't imagine going to those slums alone. Also, Tommy's channel is booming right now, so $14 for a tour in the Kenyan favelas is really pennies in exchange of what could happen. Masdin did his job well, not to mention that he put a good show for the channel alone. Everyone got his share, in my opinion, Tommy included.
