Beastars is good because they still treat eating each other as a horrific act in their society. It's a demonstration of the discrimination and power struggle that's exist where peace is an illusion. Oh boy! Let me help you understand couple of details. I'm Russian and in our country we have a huge problem with cinematography. There are actually a lot of talented and passionate people that doing their best to revive the industry, because back in The Soviet Union there were a lot of good movies that became classic. But the main reason why this industry still sucks is corruption. It is very often when people who do the project, steal the money from the budget, so I wasn't surprised when they announced a sequel because you can bet, that they spent much less money than they state on the websites. So you can clearly see in the movie, where they were using the budget and were trying to make something good, but also you can see when the budget was stolen for someone's vacation or party, so the people were forced to not care about certain stuff, like story and lipsing. I loved your video and I hope that made it clear to you

with some minor exeperience in film, i'd say it's not always neccesarily corruption, but i see overspending happening a LOT. like, the animation team does overtime to stay and work on one really intense sequence that, whoops, now means they have less money for other stuff. heck, i've done it a few times..."hey, i know the budget for this costume was 100$ but i wanted to make sure it was gonna look PERFECT on screen, so i got this better fabric and spent 150$..."

It's a pretty common trope, and surprisingly difficult to avoid if not actively thinking about it. It gets even more difficult when the movie is catering to younger audiences, like this movie. You can't just kill off the bad guy because that's too violent and may even undermine the theme of the movie, so what do you do?

It was shown time and time again that Zuko was a good person, but put in a difficult situation, and just doing what he thought he had to do. Iroh even was there to make *sure* Zuko stayed the way he was, since he had lost his own brother to power and negative influence. And Zuko wasnt instantly forgiven all the time. He did some bad things but not irredeemable things. Even so he had to pay the price for them and slowly work his way into deserving that redemption. Zuko was written from the start as not a villain, but a lost soul to be redeemed. I think the OP is referring to characters that are like Azula or the Fire Lord. Characters that are ACTUALLY villainous and mean general death/harm to others. Those kinds of people get redeemed a lot when they really shouldnt be. But thank god Avatar didnt do that.

I honestly thought that the movie would be about a village of pigs looking for protection from another pack of carnivores. They hear about wolves and sheep living together, and they go looking for answers how they managed this. They seek out Grey, who was the bridge between the two species, and begs him to talk to the rival predators for peace between them and the pigs. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. Maybe the rival predators are bears, the natural enemy of wolves in nature. The bears don't listen to grey, and threaten to wipe out his new village of prey and predator if they get involved with keeping them from the pigs. So, pigs, wolves, and sheep get together, and fight off the bears with their tanks and other high powered shit, and chase the bears off for good, and the pigs can live in peace on their own.
