Good thing Danny Antonucci has managed to secure the creative rights for Ed, Edd n Eddy from Cartoon Network. That way, while they are allow to rerun the show, he will NEVER EVER allow a reboot of his magnum opus to ever be made officially. There are fan attempts on the internet sure like having the Eds in high school but most of them are nowhere close to the original charm. I've always found that when the writers for kids shows are more interested in 'appealing' to their audience then actually writing the show, we get stuff like this. They look at what's popular and trendy and shove as much of that into the script as possible so there's no room for anything original or even an actual script. Then of course because of how fast those things move now, even by the time the episodes go out, they're referencing things that are out dated and past their time, well into the cringe zone, which the show further pushes it into.

One thing about the reboot that was shown in this review is how week the Powerpuff Girls are. In the original the girls were incredibly powerful. They could take on anything and when they were losing it was to incredibly powerfull villains like the Rowdyruff Boys and Him. In the reboot, the girls are constantly captured by things they should easily get out of or even injured by things that never injured them in the past. In this episode specifically, Blossom and Bubbles were trapped in a giant pet cage when they should've easily been able to break out of it. But no, they had to give some sort of excuse to get Buttercup over being very musclely

Or, as often happens, she just can't do things anymore because she's too big. Saberspark even pointed out in the video how some people can't drink from a cup they're holding or tie their shoes because they can't bend their arms enough with the muscles in the way. Imagine her being able to punch through the crust of the Earth itself to the mantle, but she keeps losing fights because she can't do things like turn her head to see an incoming punch or bend over to pick things up. That idea of hyperspecialization to the point of detriment makes a much more interesting storyline.

The villain gallery here was the most annoying part of the show. The old show at least had better themes for each villain giving them substantial personalities that made them unforgettable and dynamic. Any of them separate or together could’ve held an episode all their own and make it exciting. These villains were all over the place like this installment itself like it was still finding its voice and couldn’t make up its mind! I can’t remember half of them or which was supposed to be the best in their heads. And Bliss was one Powerpuff too many! This overinflated train wreck was a failed experiment we didn’t need and even the network couldn’t take seriously given it allowed them to fade into obscurity when it was still supposedly active at the time. The live action installment is really gonna bury this poor franchise. They really need to take back their self respect.

Powerpuff girls Z rubbed me the wrong way in the same way that this reboot feels like teen titans GO in powderpuff girl mascot costumes. It was magical girl anime with a powerpuff girl sticker on it. For anyone who wants an experience like OG powerpuff girls, I recommend The UltraViolets. The book series was inspired by the powerpuffs, even with a comedic narrator. The super powered best friend group fights evil mutants and secret agents. It’s a fun book series that I found scratched that pulpy superhero well written girl power itch. There’s a bit more personal drama, but it’s blended well with the action!

If it didn't have lines like "life is one big hate boner" or overdo the edge, it might have been "meh" at worst, but instead, the PPG reboot was written by some 14-year-old edgelord (You're probably picturing the same image I am, a young teenage boy who listens to nothing but MCR, thinks slur=funny, acts like the Joker and thinks he's scary when his classmates are just laughing and cringing, etc) who just got done watching The Boys and completely missed everything that made The Boys work and tried applying what he thought The Boys was about to Power Puff Girls. Before you ask, I did actually meet someone like that in Middle School, that was his exact description, he acted like this until our High-Schook graduation, and I wouldn't be suprised if he was somehow behind the reboot.

In the prequel Baby in my pocket, all of the kids that have chosen pets are babies and the ruler of the Baby Pocket Kingdom, Queen Ephedra chooses the right baby for every couple. The expanded version is going to have 21 more child that needs a pet and Katie freeing Eva from the Jelousy Demon (as it turnes out, Eva is not evil, she is just possesed), resulting in the fight between good and evil and the light burning Jelousy Demon away. In the sequel Puppy in my pocket Battle of the Friendship Heart, all of the children that have chosen pets are now teenagers and turns out that Jelousy Demon had the mind of someone else, the bunyip named Lucifina and then the fight between good and evil starts and the light purifies Lucifina and she joins her sister Angelica. Then the wendigo named Necromanser appeares and he wants to make everyone hate each other and then the fight between good and evil begins and the light burned Necromanser and he died that way. Then the akhlut named Tarquinius wants to make everyone sad and sad and then the fight between good and evil ensues and the light purifies Tarquinius. Then the hidebehind name Lavinia comes to the picture and she wants to make everyone hate each other and then the fight between good and evil happens and the light purifies Lavinia. Then the tizheruk named Venus and she wants to make everyone sad and then the fight between good and evil happens and the light purifies Venus. And then the manticore named Claudius summons Gort and Magort, war, death, famine and conquest and the fight between good and evil ensues and the light burns away Claudius. And in the anime, the main antagonist is going to be Tamamo no Mae the ninetailed fox who wants to make everyone sad and hate each other. Then comes Katie, the fight between good and evil ensues and the light burns away Tamamo.

The icarly revival is to my surprise good. It takes a new direction for the characters while having them still be faithful to how they used to act as kids. Now seeing them as adults getting into more mature and grounded situations.
