The celestial dragon is heading to egg head to secure the most important thing RESOURCES. Egg head is a well spring of resources. Everything we seen on it can help someone last a siege. Weather changing for crops. The machine that makes food. The protection dome and the seraphim as final guards. With that being said. He HAS to have hands if he's going to secure the island himself

The God Knights' existence fills in a important piece of the final war, I always wonder what really is the true powerbase of the WG, it can't be the Marines but cause the Gorousei said that they were but the public face of the WG, and the way they dismissed Sakazuki's (whom I don't think would be loyal to them in the end game for a long time, he is too righteous, now he can pursuit his own dream, to create a world of righteousness with a disciplined incorruptible iron fist) authority makes me realize they must have a more powerful and more importantly loyal force in the hold. So when they introduced the CP-0 I thought that was it, but then their showing at Wano while adequate is far from impressive for the supposed final bosses, not to mention they are agents and police, not the royal guard. The God Knights, now it makes perfect sense.

I was anticipating either a direct fight with CP0 or that they would somehow trick the Strawhats or capture one of them. Now I think that the World Government will reveal their ace in the hole and bring out the God's Knights to hunt down the Strawhats, Blackbeard and other grave threats. The World Government knows their backs are against the wall, multiple kingdoms are rebelling with some of these rebellions successful and that there are 3 Yonkou level crews closing in on the One Piece (4 if Cross Guild is thrown into the mix). The fact that people are now seeing rebellion as actually possible is something the World Government is going to want to quash ASAP.

I really like the "Shanks has a twin brother theory", because it means the one talking to the Gorosei was the twin, and the "certain pirate" could be Shanks. It also explains how Shanks *teleports* from place to place. For example, how he managed to stop Kaido, but also showed up at Marineford. Brother stopped Kaido, like a Marine would; Shanks stopped the war, like a certified badass would!

I don’t think he’s evil at all. I mean shit....Roger *raised* him. I do feel like he has some connection to the celestial dragons, but Roger an his crew found an raised him since he was a baby. Not to mention Roger entrusted his Straw hat to Shanks an Shanks etc. was the reason Luffy became the man he is today. So....if Oda does make Shanks all of a sudden the bad guy an undermine ALL that stuff....to me that’s horrible writing. I think he just did that to keep fans guessing if he’s good or not.

We have a recurring theme of villains teaming up with Luffy after their defeat. Doffy will come in clutch in the final War.

I don't mind the concept of god's knights, it makes sense that we didn't know about them until now. the government is secretive and so is the revolutionary army. Also from a story pov , we didn't need to know about them until now, not everything has to be foreshadowed 500 before in order to make sense. At the end of the day like everything else execution is what matters and I'm confident we won't have a kaguya situation in one piece.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the story implications IF Shanks is a God's Knight. I think the final battle has to be at Mary Geoise for Luffy to destroy the Red Line / Fishman Island "by his hands." (Chapter 610) I'm pretty sure Luffy achieving his dream will be the end of the story. Finding Laugh Tale, the One Piece, and learning the true history, is a necessary stop before the climax of the story to add to the drama of the moment. Happily, it's all speculation and I'm looking forward to being either a little right and/or a lot wrong. -->And to anyone reading this far down: Read The Booms! It's a fantastic story.

Shanks being an EX-Gods Knight can work with the timeline and motives. Found as a pirate, discovered his past.. tried to make a difference with the marines - discovered what they're really like and went back to being a pirate

I think this was a perfect setup since the Revolutionary Army can deal with the government while the Four Emperors and other pirates can focus on Laugh Tale. I didn't realize this instead sparked a debate on who will be the final villain (Imu or Blackbeard) for the Strawhats. Personally, I think it should be Dragon or Sabo to be up against Imu because the change they desire lies there plus Luffy doesn't care about the political stuff. I know the issue is that Imu is probably too OP but it makes more sense that the final villain for the pirate Luffy is BB.

This chapter is another example of how power scaling is done right in onepiece. People claim the power scaling is inconsistent but really oda just takes non power factors into account. In this case, the admirals were not only on the defensive but forced to protect the painfully stupid celestial dragons that wouldn't get out of the way. Resulting in the admirals forced to pull their punches and take hits they could have dodged. Meanwhile the revolutionarys can just attack full power

Tbf, the Gorosei have always been shown with 3 types of subordinates: Navy officers, CP agents & Knights. The Navy & CP proactively keep the status quo, whereas the Knights exclusively guard Celestial Dragons (e.g. Sabaody). Now that the Gorosei & Imu are physically moving, so are their personal Knights.

I was just typing a comment regarding Shanks possibly having a twin and then you said it! Like maybe, the clone idea is a red herring. I was going to add, what if this creates a way for Luffy to have to defeat "Shanks" without having to fight the actual Shanks. Or, what if Luffy witnesses "GK Shanks" doing something terrible thinking it was the actual Shanks and that could be a way for Luffy and the actual Shanks to have a confrontation? Kind of like when Luffy confronted Zoro at Whiskey Peak. Also, God's Knights were previously mentioned in passing in an earlier chapter regarding the events at Reverie. The chapter was still recent, but this is not the first mention. I'm excited about their reveals!

Just realised that all of Post TS has been a battle over RESOURCES. Oda just never put a label on it until Egghead. Because FI couldn't produce SWEETS, Luffy picks a fight with BM. Destroying the SAD production breaks the New World status quo, not defeating Ceasar (the usual for Pre-TS). After Dofy's defeat a pirate alliances formed to seize the remaining WEAPONS stock he'd acquired by trading with Kaido. In the end the BB pirates invade the Revs (an unusual confrontation) to steal it and soon on. Pre-TS was just the SHs fighting the villians, not necessarily the specifics of their schemes. E.g. alabasta vs dressrosa - the first was a race to beat croc, the 2nd was about destroying the smile factory. Now the SHs are considered an empire, we can sit at the big boy table and witness the global power struggle Oda has been patiently setting up.

It makes sense as now the fight is about territory and controlling the world, which means controlling the resources and manpower. Luffy is not interested in that but in order to be truly free he must break anyone who controls the resources and has the upper hand.

My thought on the Gods Knights is similar to what happened at the end of Shippuden. Kishimoto admitted he made Madara too overpowered, so Kaguya was basically created to side step him. It could be the same thing, Oda has made Luffy too overpowered now so he needed to create something that could fight evenly against him.

I see a reddit post pointing out that every single time we have seen shanks's face oda has ALWAYS drawn the scar. except one time only. in chapter 907 ( i think) where shanks talks to the five elders he does not have his scar. yet in a almost identical pose/frame where shanks meets whitebeard you can still see the scar. yeah oda forgets to draw scars sometimes but its just odd how the ONLY time he "forgot" to do it for shanks was during meeting with the 5 elders. leading to a theory that the guy in 907 was shanks's twin.

My thoughts & opinions of the chapter: 1. I don't know what these Holy Knights will look like, or how powerful they are in comparison to other characters, but I am now starting to wonder if any of them will end up becoming the "final" major opponents for some of the Strawhats when they face the World Government themselves! 2. When looking at the silhouettes of the Holy Knights, I can't help but wonder if both Dragon & Shanks did have some sort of connection with them, even though it could help us learn more about their respective backgrounds. 3. When seeing how much of a good job Sabo & the others did, I wonder if Hancock would use them as a way to convince her tribe that not all men are as bad as the ones who attacked their homeland!

Since you’re the premier theories streamer for One Piece: I have a theory about Blackbeard, Buggy, and Shanks. I believe Blackbeard’s three faced Jolly Roger may be symbolic of those three. Oda made sure to catch us up on the other three Yonko recently. Two of those three went after and defeated Luffy’s allies, Law and Kidd. It would not surprise me to see the three former rivals cooperate to claim the New World. It would not be too far of a stretch for Oda to tell us that Shanks, Buggy, and Teach worked this out while Roger fought Whitebeard. It would offer some explanation as to why Buggy and Shanks chose not to visit Laugh Tale with Roger. It is a stretch to believe this claim right now, but the Yonko united against Luffy would explain why Oda thought he could wrap up the series as quickly as he said he wanted to. One large pirate battle and one big battle against the World Government, if not both at the same time. Kind of like the three powers that were introduced when the series began - Marines, Warlords, and Yonko. I wanted to share my theory with you, JB because I think you follow the details of the series closely enough to pick up on more clues (than myself) that either support or disclaim my idea.

I been saying this about the way admirals were portrayed at Marine Ford. A old sick WB who was definitely the weakest Yonko at that time took on the OG 3. It makes no sense for them to be able to compete remotely with Yonko. Fuji and GB have been even more underwhelming. There will be at least 5 Yonko caliber characters at the final war. The 9 holy knights were a fantastic introduction into the story. A force powerful enough to even the odds.

I have two theories but all with the same “conclusion”. 1- The entire God’s Knights is one family, and you guessed it, Shanks’ bloodline OR 2- The God knight’s have always been composed by the same families and are represented by the strongest person in that family’s generation I believe Oda will draw a parallel with the history of Moses. Shank’s mother tried to save Shanks from this destiny and put him in a treasure chest so he could be found and adopted by someone else. By doing that, someone else in his family inherited his place (or his father is still holding that position, waiting for his return)

Maybe this is why shanks told buggy he wasn’t going after the one piece because he was going to be trained as holy knight. After the training and learning some secrets in mary gosie shanks convinces the world government to let him continue as pirate with the promise of stopping anyone who is close to finding the one piece or try to claim it for the world government. Shanks could be playing both roles as a yonko and holy knight just like a double agent. Being raised by Roger heavily influences him to be good but his celestial dragon heritage maybe casts some doubt on weather he should actually pursuit it 🤷🏾‍♂️

I think the knights were aesthetically foreshadowed already because Oda already established the fact that security in Mariejoise is handled by a different faction; an order of knights; not the marines and not CP. This always struck me as odd and I’m quite delighted to see that this order has an upper echelon.

The holy knights are most likely under direct control of Im and only act when something directly threatens the entire system. Im is playing a longer game, one in which the Marines, World Government and even Celestial Dragons are but temporary participants.

Shanks may not be EVIL but hes involved in some shady stuff. His portrayal in chapter 1 is of a guy who murders people by surprise and brags about not fighting fair. He says he has trouble controlling his haki in enemy territory on Whitebeard's ship, and then in the Gorosei chambers is controlling it fine. Oda has already told us "shanks is whitebeards enemy and the goroseis ally". Compare Shanks' behavior with the first yakuza Shimizu Jirocho. Ended wars without violence, made sure people got proper burials, was a beloved folk hero, but he was also a murderous criminal who did a lot of very bad stuff.

I think the gods knights are the antithesis of the D clan, or more specifically, the enemy of Joy Boy. I think shanks twin brother (or whatever) is the one talking to the gorosei a long time ago and he wanted to talk about Luffy possibly becoming Joy Boy, and therefore it was time for them to appear in the story.

I think a Holy Knight was seen wayback in the Punk Hazard arc during Clown's televised demo of his freshly made weapon Smiley with the horned broker with the feathered coat being the shadow of the horned knight when Dragon introduced this new faction in his thought bubble. I believe the horned knight wanted to use Smiley either as a steed or weapon.

the revolutionaries are not weak. remember that the strongest agents in their army aren't the four commanders that were fighting, it's Sabo and Ivankov. Sabo hold off against an admiral way better than King and Queen combined and destroyed who we perceived at the time as one of Blackbeard's strongest captains. the fact that the third, fourth, fifth and sixth in line can survive an encounter like this against the admirals means a lot

Shanks having a clone or brother would give us the possiblity of the guy standing in front of the elders not beeing shanks, since we also didnt see his scar. The elders just said about him, that considering his status he should stay out of politics making sense for a knight. And maybe the pirate he wants to talk about beeing his brother shanks who now starts ot make his move to claim the One Piece.

I think God’s Knights are interesting. Let’s be real the World Government has no enforcement outside of the Marines, which I don’t think are the most efficient, some are corrupt, and most don’t interact with the Gorosei or World Government and don’t necessarily act based on their orders. Cipher Pol is more undercover agents doing dirty work. But there’s still quite a few of them. God’s Knights might be more of an elite strike force. Very few members that are directly under Imu.

I think gods knights are the gorosei, and the gorosei are supposed to be the elders of royal families, while there aren’t 10 gorosei, 1, cobra was killed for being a traitor, and we can speculate on shanks being an elder of that given royal family, which gives him such high authority
