This is so timely. I was about to have a nervous breakdown today. I am in NYC and my husband is in Hungary. We have not seen each other since December of 2019. God bless us all. May God give us the patience until we are able to be with our loved ones once again.

I am French and my boyfriend is American. France put in place a system for unmarried couples to meet in the country. For that, you have to give different kinds of proof and even buy round-trip plane tickets (I guess they want to make sure you really want to come and are willing to spend the money at the risk of their refusal). We applied, waited for an answer for over 4 months, having to call almost everyday. They finally refused only 4 days before the plane departure date, because he had never been to France before... (yes we always met in the US and never in France, but I really do not see what it has to see with our love...) Seems like no politician actually genuinely cares. :'(

I am in a binational relationship and I have found great support from the Love Is Not Tourism community. Being separated from my partner due to travel bans during such a challenging year is by far one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Thank you for making this documentary and bringing awareness to Love Is Not Tourism’s cause.

this gave me chills. thank you for making this heartfelt documentary. I am myself in a long distance relationship and I have been separated from my boyfriend for 9 months. its so hard, and especially with all the travel bans that ruin our plans of seeing each other. I hope this will bring awareness to everyone. sending love and support to everyone in this horrible situation. we will make it! love always wins.

Being in this documentary and having my photo with my partner in there, I can still recall how much issues we had to see each other. Now we're 2022 and people are still suffering in some points. Luckily, I've been blessed to have my job back too thus I can see my partner. All the best to all those who are still fighting!

I really had my tears while watching it.. :( I had a boyfriend, he is now in England and I am here in the Philippines. The plan was he will come here to meet me after Christmas because we thought it gonna be fine soon but we're wrong. It's so much harder for us to be together since we haven't met yet in person and it is so hard to pass the immigration here in the Philippines especially when they find out about our situation. Tourists are still not allowed here in our country and as much as i wanted to go there in the UK to meet him, I CAN'T. :( I know the government is just doing their jobs, in making sure that the virus will not be spread in any way but we can take all of the safety protocols seriously just to be with our loved ones. Thanks for making this documentation and I hope that you can still make more to inspire everyone who's also in our situation to fight on what is right because #LOVEISNOTTOURISM..

I am Mexican and my fiancé is German, we were separated 8 months until I took the decision to travel to Germany, during the second wave in Germany, but sadly because we didn't have a photo together I couldn't saw him, just few minutes and then the German police sent me back to Mexico, he came on October and after 1 year and 4 months we could were together. This video made me cry.

And couples that actually care for one another don't matter huh?! Because obviously having a kid or being married is the only way to prove love in this stupid world... I hate it... so frustrated by this stupid system. DONE! Cried first and now i am angry just how pathetic the approach is from any government. Believe it or not but there are people who actually love each other without being married or having a kid - THEY MATTER AS MUCH AS THOSE WITH!!!! End of discussion. Excellent video however and thank you for raising the awareness about it... i am just really frustrated with how hard it is to make this important for those who can make that change.

Totally US ♡ The laissez passer they give is based on documentation that is clearly far away from what is a distance relationship. Spain is asking us to be similar as a pareja de hecho with bills in comon and bank account, how when we are on a distance relationship ? This situation is awful dn even if it is sad, I am glad more people are experiencing this and are feeling the same, so we can kind of identify our case to other people. Keep being strong ♡ we are all together in this ♡

Thank you so much for making this documentary! I do wonder how many of us are out there and how "risky" it would be to let us travel. I for one would just want to travel to my partner, get married and stay there, and adhere to all the rules like testing and quarantine, just like they said in the documentary. This has such a huge effect on our lives. Does anybody know our numbers?

My couple was from Poland and I am from Russia. After covid, all countries have been open for a long time, but Poland and Russia are still closed to each other. I can't just go to Europe as a Japanese or US citizen. I need to get a visa, for which I have to pay and provide a whole book of all kinds of documents (I was issued a visa for several months, although sometimes they issue it for 1-2 years, but there is a complex system for counting days). The idiocy is that I had to go to Poland through Germany with a different Visa, because Poland does not issue visas to Russians (even does not issue visitor visas) for political reasons. As soon as the covid ended, the war began. And now all European countries discriminate against Russians, issuing visas rarely or not at all, and Russia may not let its citizens out at all. It's over: the partner bluntly said it was too hard, better to find someone within physical reach than wait an indefinite eternity. I also thought about collecting more stories and writing an article because I feel there are still thousands of heartbreaks due to the inhuman restrictions of politicians and artificial restrictions on both sides.

I am from New Zealand and my husband is from India. We haven't seen eachother since March. Its made more difficult by long visa processing times here as well. We need to respect Binational love instead of being judged as potentially fake by our governments. Life in limbo is mentally exhausting. And love is love no matter what passport you own.

@@breas.9646 yes I will be looking into this in the New Year. I am scared of flying alone in these difficult times but I miss him too much now. It's the NZ visa processing that has put our future life and plans on hold since early 2019. Far too long 😪

So nice to see our picture at the end. This Documentary was needed and i feel so sorry for everyone else who is going through what we are going through. The struggle is real, i was due to fly out to LAX see my queen in April . Moved the flight 3 times and now due on 20th January. Praying this will happen after months of talk about lifting the ban. Ive never understood why the UK was banned as we have always had a lower rate of infection and the borders here have been open throughout to US citizens. So unfair and its discrimination. I pray to god for everyone to keep strong .. LOVE IS STRONGER THAN ANY DISCRIMINATION OR FORCED SEPARATION ..LOVE CONQUERS ALL #loveisnottourism
