Sacramento State's Sustainability Digester

Sacramento State's Sustainability department just got a new digester that turns kitchen scraps from campus eateries into compost and methane gas.
Simulating a cow's stomach.
Food scraps are fed into the machine.
Mixed with bacteria, similar to what is found in a cow's stomach.
24 hours later, the machine produces natural, nutrient-rich fluid.
This will help fertilize the campus.
