"Captain" chief Daniel Ninham of Washington's Continental Army - a "praying" Indian who sailed to England to plead the case for return of his native land and died battling mercenary Hessian soldiers in defense of the revolution. The few surviving Indian veterans were never paid their soldier's portion not to mention never regaining their ancestral land. A complicated story I couldn't even begin to tell!
