It's so tragic that her life was cut short by such a simple mistake. What's even more tragic is this is a bit more common than we think. I've heard of reports of VERY close calls where planes nearly crashed simply because there was too much stuff on board. I didn't like the movie Queen of the damned because it was so vastly different from the novel by the late Anne Rice but Aaliyah truly lived up to her name and did what she could with the role. She played Akasha, the mother of all the modern vampires such as Armand and Lestat. It was a memorable performance but sadly, great acting alone cannot save a bad film.

❤️❤️JUDY GARLAND❤️❤️ Just recently discovered her cover of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas on my search for Christmas music. If you haven't heard it, you must! If I had the ability to sing like her I’d never speak again! I'd sing everything!! Oh, what a treasure she was! I understand too that her rise in Hollywood wasn't easy.. Diet pills Diet pills Diet pills! Because they said she was plump.. That's horrible to do to anyone.. But in spite of all the hardships, she endured and was able to leave this world a legacy of such a beautiful determined individual.. With an angelic voice that is so very her own.. Somewhere over the Rainbow is where we’ll find her❤️❤️

Great job, and great video, as always. Can't wait to see part 5! I remember JamMaster Jay, and thanks to our Jewish Bros and Sisters for their talents and crafts in their time, and to Malcolm X and Paul Robeson for their contributions for the Civil Rights movement (your works were not in vain❤️❤️) and Joan Crawford was an amazing actor! She was really good, all of the actresses were! I was sad all over again, when I saw Aaliyah's resting place, because I loved her music, and she's my sister's favorite singer/actress, and my dad's favorite, too. He died in 2004, and he'd always had a crush on her, lol 😆. We saw both of her movies(Queen of the Damned and Romeo Must Die) together, and we have all of her cassettes and CDS. I even saw her "Making The Video" for her last video/song, "Rock the Boat" episode on MTV when it aired before she died and for a long time people thought that the pilot had been under the influence of drugs and was flying the plane, despite being high and the plane being severely overloaded, but somehow, I don't think that is true anymore, it was just a terrible accident....i still remember right where I was when I found out she had died: It was the day before I started high school for the first time in 2001, and about two weeks before the events of 9/11, and I was in my room cleaning up and getting ready for my first year of high school the next day, while watching MTV(or BET, I can't remember) and all of a sudden, a breaking news report showed up and that's when I heard the headline, it was short, but it hurt my heart when I heard it-" singer and actress, Aaliyah, died in a plane crash today at the age of 22"..I stopped what I was doing and ran to my sister's room crying, telling her that Aaliyah was gone, and we sat and watched the report again later that afternoon. All MTV and BET music stations played ALL of her hit songs, back to back until the end of the week, and every music shop in town sold out of all of her albums and tapes. I'm sure that there were many singers who were also actors, who were really good, but Aaliyah was one of the best. Not just because her aunt is THE Gladys Knight, but Aaliyah was a bright, amazing, funny, talented and gifted young lady, and everyone loved her, including me and my family. Even 17 years later, I still can't listen to her songs, or watch her films; because it makes me so sad to listen to them. She was(and still is) one of the greats, and even in 2018-19, would have been better than most of the singers/actors of today. I miss her so much, but I know that she is one of Heaven's beautiful angels, singing for her Lord and Savior, and my dad, lol 😆, and she will live on in her music and in our hearts forever. Rest well, Aaliyah ❤️😢

This is my third go round of watching all of your videos. There's something good to be said for short-term memory loss because there is no way I could remember all that you do so I just keep watching. And "Bravo" to Giuseppe Vasapolli whose music is never overbearing but embracing.

I was born in the Caribbean but grew up in America and Canada. In the Caribbean we would frown upon doing this in cemeteries, but I truly appreciate what you do. Not only that, but your productions have a quality that is beyond compare. Such class, style, and respect for the dearly departed. I rather think that the dead stand by their graves, watch what you do and smile, honoring everyone from the greatest performers to those who worked behind the scenes. Thank you so very much for this. I am now a fan!

Bravo again Mr Dark! These get better & better! I was so glad to see Tony Randall. One of my ultimate favorites.❤ I had no idea Basil Rathbone (another favorite) was buried here in the states. So many in this video passed away far too young. Not only were they cheated out of a long life, but when I think of all what we were cheated out of, it makes me cry. All this awesome talent wasted. What a shame. I look forward to each video, you never disappoint. Thank you so much. Have a Merry Christmas & the Happiest of New Years. The same for whoever helps you create these awesome videos. Thank you so much! ❤🎄🎅🎁👍☺

Great video. I loved Aaliyah, damn I loved her pretty self. That was sad how she died. Like to hear the history of the people that was here before me. I knew about a few of them, like to hear about the people, I had never heard of before, great history. RIP to those folks.

Amazing as usual, jam packed with heavy hitters, this series has been so much different than West Coast graves to me, and I like the fact that as more entertainment people pass these videos will be updated and virtually never end, hopefully.

Growing up with all these wonderful entertainers and contributors to the entertainment industry, every single episode of HOLLYWOOD GRAVEYARD brings happy tears to my eyes with the memories of these awesome people and their every unselfish endeavour. And yet, I feel part of me is resting there with them in familial spirit. I love these episodes, and I love these tears. More, I love these people. Thank you all so very much!

And just when I thought Arthur Dark could not top New York #3, he does! I am humbled by the breadth and depth of this video. Literally, from A (Aaliyah) to Z (Zukor) and everyone in between. Absolutely fantastic. The section about Aaliyah is greatly appreciated. Although she had many great songs, "Journey to the Past" will always be my favorite. Thank you, Arthur, for another tremendous year of exceptional work. Blessings.

I loved it when he show cab Calloway's resting place and the lyrics to his songs that he played .I still can't get over that he was married to Mahalia Jackson the gospel singer. Also Aaliyah's resting place as well I am still a big fan to this day of Aaliyah and it was so sad of what happened to her and that the plane was overloaded and crashed on a fateful day.

How do you do it Mr. Dark.? I am very good with words and the ability to put the right ones together. But, You both Amaze and Baffle me with your Genius and personality. The Combination you have mixed with intelligence and the ability to weave so much knowledge into such a short video is the baffling part. May God grant you Happiness, Health, Joy, Long Life, Wealth, True Friendship, Discernment and extend the love of Life and Humor you all ready have. Because Mr. Dark God has given you a Gift, A Wonderful Gift . But so many people keep things like that to themselves for fear of losing them, Not you sir, You share your Gifts with the world. And Always remember the greatest Grave of all. The one In Jerusalem where Millions every year flock to see.......... An EMPTY Tomb. For we are upon the Season of Celebrating the Man who walked out of his own Grave. Jesus of Nazareth. God Bless you and Merry Christmas Mr. Dark, And may there be many more for you as well as the ones you Love.
