@@johnehrke987 Hi John. We started exploring with macrodosing, starting at 1.5g and slowly rising until we felt comfortable, tripsitting each other. I can remember at 1.5g, the only time we did it together since there's really no risk at that point, he saying: "This must be how normal people feel all the time. It's like a giant weight has been lifted for the first time". I then stopped entirely. I guess I'm a fairly balanced person and wasn't getting much from the whole thing except for nausea and pretty visuals. He on the other hand had a couple of very powerful experiences and decided to stop macrodosing at least for a while. He's been microdosing ever since. It could even be placebo effect at this point but I see the difference. We can have friends and even acquaintances over for dinner without him withdrawing into his smartphone. He smiles more. We can go out without him needing me by his side at all times.

I haven't consumed psychedelics much, partly because after my first experience at 14 (too young probably) I had long-lasting trauma. I was already dealing with a violent step-parent and general family and community dysfunction, and after my first trip (on LSD) I became severely, lethally depressed. That said, the last time I took psilocybin, it was a small dose (less than a gram), and I felt a general lift in my mental struggles for a few months. I am glad it has been found that it can be, essentially, an emotional godsend. Thank you for being respectful of the indigenous traditions and spiritual potential of these substances, and for being careful not to just be pushers. I think you are all doing great work, and I feel lucky to be able to learn more about this ancient human tradition.

Please, please, please allow me to be a leader as Paul states you are looking for. I suffer from diagnosed PTSD, OCD and Cognitive Overload due to my single sided deafness. I have treatment resistant depression. After over a decade of what I am sure most would describe as insufferable depression. If they were to speak for themselves if my shoes were on their feet. Been prescribed countless medications and been part of treatments like EMDR and (TMS) transcranial magnetic stimulation. With zero relief. I’ve been described as stuck. And yes in a very simple way of describing it. Yes, I am stuck. I have no friends, have very little family and have never been able to hold a career. These things are so much out of my hands. Likeness to my being deaf. There is just nothing I can do to fix it. You won’t believe how much energy it takes for me to write something like this. I’ve restarted each sentence so many times trying to stay focused and picking out the right words. Just so it could possibly give me a chance of connecting with one of you Bioneers. That so someone would be interested/empathetic enough to hear the heart I am laying out here. In my search for help and health. Please someone help me. There is nothing more than I would like than to be an ambassador for this cause, of using these teqniques for bringing life back to people like me. The best solutions are back to basics, and finding support, and getting serious with God and telling God (the universe, a higher power, nature, angels - whichever you feel) what you need in order to be here. You need to get powerfully serious with how you feel and tell, don't ask, God what you need. Also - I want you to know there is nothing wrong with you. I have no doubt you are in very real pain and have endured what feels like endless suffering, but it is not YOU that is sick, or wrong, or broken. Spending lots of time in nature, really getting away from noise, and eating through this pain, all the way back to yourself. You can absolutely overcome this. Seek out inspiring stories - NDE stories. Find a reiki healer near you or shaman, or pastor, whoever you feel closest to. Or, you could even try for a day, just have a "f*ck it" day and acting as if you were 100% healed... what would that day look like? I hope you can call support and peace into your life and over your body. I believe in you, you hang in there and practice! Let go of the guilt and shame, you will overcome this.

I also used many psycedelics in the 70s. Good, helpful, pure events. My body/mind has carried memories/physical changes, of it's effects, all these years, and I have not desired further ingestments. However, if I were to be 'led' to another ceremony, or found my own fresh mushrooms or peyote, I might use it. But the various offers I've had thru the years by recreational users...a big NO THANKS. It's as if once the plant leaves the ground, it becomes altered by who ever touches it, and possibly 'contaminated', in hands of people selling it. Or have I become paranoid and too sensitive!lol A friend has some buttons growing in her yard and just being near them is enough! Just Thinking of them I feel the spirit and recall all the effects.. I get what could be called flashbacks, but they are so subtle, as if to be considered 'a way of thinking and seeing reality'. I have had a very powerful experience on 2cp once. By far the most visually stunning mind bending trip ever. There were so many layers. The relevant one was a period where I believed I was in communication with myself, I guess my higher self who was physically watching from afar, on a spaceship lol, that was how I translated it at the time. Anyways i was down here on earth playing a game being given encouragement and coaching from both myself and a very good friend, Cole, who was not present at the time but we have shared many out there trip experiences where we were both aware we had lived many many different lives in eachothers presence. Anyhow it felt as if the psychedelic had opened a line of communication to a higher dimension of existence where my progress in this realm was being monitored by myself and my friend. It was a trip, like a game. I was walking around town and every person I saw had pastel colored transparent beam of light surrounding their head and going straight up into the clouds. Yellows, greens and blues. I was informed by myself that the different colors represented which team each player was one. At a different time in the trip i was accompanied by a little okd lady who called herself old lady time. She told me every time i stepped over a crack on the sidewall Could represent the wiping clean of all Of history and when i stepped onto the cement in the next block we could rebuild the whole story again a different way. Peyote is NOT difficult to grow! It just slow growing (just like basically all cactus) Half the problem is the native churches insist on harvesting only naturally grown plants. If done properly a few large scale cultivation projects could cover the churches needs and begin to re-populate the wild within 30 years. What is an indigenous person? My people are from the North, they were called Vikings by some, the word Viking meaning, to go raiding. Someone approached me about doing Kambo. I had no idea what it was and in researching I got a no for me. I am a vegan for one. But I feel here in the US we tend to take anything like this and turn it so commercial. Americans have a problem after being programed, to over CONSUME. There really is little reverence for anything sacred. Francoise's statement about it not being the plant itself but our Mother Earth-Gaia is what I have believed for a long time. So little reverence for her and all of her natural realms from humanity. Those people will not find the same healing as someone like us. Shouldn't we make these people do the work prior? Okay I gotta point out how horrible of an argument or point that was made in the description. If companies sell mushrooms once they’re legal how does that Marginalize native Americans? That argument implies or suggests that with mushrooms being illegal the fact mushrooms are illegal means native Americans aren’t marginalized by that. If you want a free market economy that’s great. What Obama did bailing out billionaires was horrible. Trump cut taxes so corporations were taxed about the same as llcs and other business entities. People say that’s bad. What most uneducated people don’t take account of is the fact low interest rates for a decade and QE or quantitative easing was bad or way worse then lowering taxes that trump did. Low interest rates near zero was bad but then QE basically means the government forced interest rates negative. They were near zero but QE is equivalent to so much of a rate cut. Point is the U.S. government for years screwed savers and no one cared because peoples house and stocks went up. Then 2021 was really crazy. You can’t say you care about poor people or native Americans when both political parties purposely distort and create economic bubbles. If ya think about it though native Americans if they are sovereign on their reservations they should sell mushrooms or make them legal and sell them. It’s how some states that ban casinos have casinos because native Americans are allegedly got some sovereignty. So honestly it’s actually a good thing if mushrooms are illegal because then native Americans can capitalize and provide casinos and mushrooms in several states. Y’all should read how some African Americans were suing native Americans for not letting them resign up as native Americans because these black guys wanted a monthly check from casino revenue owned by native Americans. Turns out some blacks were slaves by native Americans but could identify as Native American instead of African American. Super interesting topic and read.
