I grew up in Clayton on Country Lane & lived there till I was 19 years old. I lived right across from the tree line & I would always play in those woods when I was younger & my teenage years, take walks out there to get away. I remember seeing the stone piles & asking my grandpa about them. He told me to always respect any I seen & never disturb them, as they may be a Native American burial site. I will be 39 next week & some of my best memories I still have are walking in those woods & always having a feeling of peace. This land is apart of history & the home of the Tuscarora Tribe. It must not be disturbed or destroyed but preserved & cherished.

This is so incredible. We live less than 10 min from Clayton. This MUST be preserved! Everything in this area is being destroyed for development. This sacred sight can not be destroyed. Thank you so much for working to keep it safe. My son and I watched this video in awe and amazement.

This looks like such a gem and treasure. We need to preserve this sacred land. Not everything needs to be developed. Places like this need to be allowed to exist. It provides so many benefits to the community.

I've been looking for vids like this from this local area! This is the first one I've seen. I sure wish the music was a little lower, but I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one that has found interesting things

Love this place back to nature on how it should be. We need to preserve it. It's just part of our History. Something we can't should never forget about.

Thank you for the information and your help in preserving this area. When I was a kid my family would go to JC Cooper camp ground and there was a Trail Tree Dad would put us on so we could ride the "Horse". It wasn't until many years later that I learned what this tree was. This tree is still there and doing well.

I lived in Willow Springs for a year or so and NC proper for a decade. Both sides of the fam came through and/ or from NC. My mothers side primarily through eastern NC. Am researching the Tyner’s right now. Anybody with info on Richard please respond. He married Agnes Dougherty, presumably a Native woman, in Johnston County.
