Fun fact: the Fun is Infinite secret in Sonic CD isn't supposed to be creepy. It was actually supposed to be a joke. The name Majin is actually a nickname of the developer who does art for the game. The music is actually suppose to be the Japanese version of the boss theme which is a more cheerful and funky theme but since the US release has an entirely different soundtrack the music chances. The faces are supposed to be Majins Face but goofed up.

It's a shame they butchered the deep, emotional and creepy Spanish folktale with a jumpscare filled movie that isn't in the slightest connected to The Conjuring universe. Linda Cardellini was in that movie(made sense cuz she played supporting female characters in horror related media such as the James Gunn Scooby-Doo live action movies and Gravity Falls); oh and before you asked, the same director of The Nun directed that movie as well as destroying the franchise by replacing James Wahn as director of the third Conjuring movie. It was about a man who got a letter from who I believe is his uncle(I haven't played the game in years) which said that he needed help dealing with the ghosts at his mansion because his ghost machine broke. So our hero goes to the mansion, where we have to use the wii remote to collect pieces of objects to help the ghosts finds peace. If you clicked too many times in the wrong places, ghosts will appear. These ghosts looked like steam or smoke that resembles a face. If too many re on the screen then they turn black. I tried finding it in my wii game collection, but it was the only game that wasn't there. I think the title was something along the lines of 'Spooky Mansion'

Great Iceberg folk; If you someday make a PT 2 I can give you some other ideas, for example: In Splatoon 1 on the single player mode there´s this moment that when you defeat a boss and wait a few moments, you can hear screamings, bell rings and creepy noises In the first New Super Mario Bros for the DS; I think that Bowser´s skin getting melted when we throw him into the lava pit in the first castle can be another creepy moment. In Super Metroid we have to defeat this creature named CrocoMire which later gets thrown into a kind of lava pit and after we continue we saw him one more time but only his skulls getting ripped apart with a creepy scream he does when we see him These are some ideas I can give you for a future pt 2 but still that was a great iceberg pal, nice done. 😎👍

Earthbound actually has some unsettling stuff before you reach giygas, though he's by far the most disturbing and is still disturbing if you don't catch on to the abortion/rape/shadow Ness stuff. Tbf, no small child is going to reach him, especially since there are huge difficulty curves, the game is long as hell and it was never a hit with kids anyway. I played it as a kid (1st grade?) and I was already familiar with rpgs having gotten pretty far in ff3 (6 really but it was called 3 where I live). I still got stuck in that cave with all the mole bosses and later in the factory with master belch. I only rented the game, I didn't own it as a kid like I did ff3. I still remember being scared by some of the early game stuff, like the possessed people that attacked you with discolored faces and the happy happy cult. I was easily scared then so giygas would have given me nightmares. I didn't beat the game until I was like 18

Earthbound is definitely a super dark game. I’m surprised Nintendo let a lot of the dark stuff in the game

The piano in between is very light and happy but when put in this context it becomes creepy, funny how that works.

In the dire dire docks section you showed footage of and talked about the eel in jolly Roger bay, just wanted to point that out. Also, "Majin" can mean devil, but it can also mean something less ominous, I don't remember exactly, and that was the game director's nickname at the time.

Id say Jolly Rodger Bay is scarier then Dire Dire Docks because DDD is more lively while JRB Looks Abandoned and Empty And also you showed JRB gameplay which is kinda funny

While Mass Effect 3 isn't a horror game, I'd argue the banshees (and reaper conversions as a whole) were definitely designed to horrify you, but more in the war crime sense. Still one of my favorite entries on the list though.
