"Satanic" horror hasn't reallly scared me since I started figuring out how a lot of old Christian ideas came into being. There's also just the fact that a lot of stories written to scare sheltered Christian children basically come down to "a guy you don't know tries to hurt you," which is more interesting with a non-magical, human bad guy.

Something I would like to note, as a roblox player is: empty private servers feel off...... this feeling of dread only occurs in games that have little to zero active NPCs, stuff like decaying winter don't feel lonely because you know that the scavs are looking for you (despite wanting to kill you). When it took forever to develop a picture, most people didn't smile because it would hurt to hold it for so long, it's also why they are almost always sitting too. It's also usually the only time someone would ever get a picture in their life. Usually the family wouldn't have a picture of them alove, so they'd get the deceased ones body all prettied up to try and look more alive for their first and last photo, before they started to decay of course. These pictures are very historically important because a lot of the time, they are the only physical records of a lot of people existing other than legal documents.

Russian Sleep Experiment is a B in my book. One of the big problems I have with it is that the story doesn't do a good job of keeping count of how many test subjects there are. I'm pretty sure there's 6 deaths written out in that story (discounting the deaths of other characters), but there's only 5 test subjects. Otherwise, yeah: its stupidly iconic. I'd argue though that the premise and gorey imagery is doing a lot of the heavy lifting more than anything.
