He’s been fighting cancer for a while now, which hits close to home for me. The modeling community has lost a legend. R.I.P. Old Man.

So, I don't build very many model cars so I was only tangentially aware of this master car model builder and while the body is gone his skills, his talent, his knowledge, will live on Forever on KZbin and the internet and he will teach generations of model car builders his master techniques that have yet to be born!! so we lost the man but we didn't lose the knowledge and honestly that's all anyone can really ever hope for in their life!! I just joined his KZbin channel and the very first video that I watched is a video with some techniques on using the new bare metal foil on model cars, well this is very serendipitous because I myself am experimenting with bare metal foil on a model aircraft that I'm working on so you see posthumously he's already taught me something.❤

His videos were very engaging. He had a great way of explaining concepts. And he had a good sense of humor too.

This is truly sad been following the old man for 30+ years his KZbin channel both entertained and taught me so much my home made spray booth is lined in sheet aluminum cause of him giving me the idea from one of his videos... I will miss seeing him on fundamental Fridays😢...a huge loss for the modelling community... God rest your soul Donn..prayers for the family and those whom loved him.

I learned how to perfect the process of professionally refurbishing business phones by studing the works of this great person. After months and months of failure & disappointment, I starting studying his techniques working with plastics, and gradually I became expert myself, thanks 100% to Donn Yost.
