You know, I never would have suspected Sade as a farm kid (and still farming). Her music has always enjoyable, but I had no idea that her up-bringing was similar to a lot of other folks (like myself) who were raised on or nearby the Grand Parent's family farm. Nothing tops a childhood memory of being Grandpa & Grandma's shadow as they tended they're wonderful farm. Very cool and very beautiful. I love that so many people have never heard her talk... in the almost 30 years of her being in the business.They only know her from the quite storms or radio and tv air play. That is testament to how she is who she is and not what some A and R or promotion person says she should be. There have been so many times I wish I could run in there down by market when I'm in the kingdom or at some side walk cafe in NYC... I would simple wave and let her do on about her day... I will say the very first time I saw her in concert live I knew then that I would never ever miss one of her shows... My only criteria is that I have to be close enough to see her freckles... because there live she talks to you... she sings to you and she is so right about living in the moment... be there with her, listen and enjoy. I want to the SOL concert tour in DC and damn if there were not fools holding up phones and tablets; looking at those screens when the women and her band where right in front of them! Sad!

I used to work nights at a job that was hard and heavy. I was a machine operater. I bought Diamond Life when it was 1st released so her song reached me, especially the intro(though I've only been loved in 5). On my day off my ex would play the album in the morning as I awoke, and I remember her sitting on my back massaging my sore tired body as "Your Love Is King" played. Her voice just resonates to every cell in my being. My only regret about Sade is I never got to see her in person(still wishing though, wont have to be performing, just in her presence would fulfill me enough)
