Sadghuru naming girls Cauvery is deep wisdom. Here in South Africa our forefathers have given us surnames and names of animals, birds, trees etc as a result you can't eat nor kill such cause you related to it. Nature was preseved for generations until colonisers came.

This has blown me away. Never before have I heard such well articulated reasoning for the value system that controls how we act. If you put the Amazon rainforest on a pedestal and respect it for what it is, and thank it, we wouldn’t be losing it by the minute. Quite incredible really. Beautifully simple. Thanks for this.

Thank you Andrew for your work. Ancient people of India had invested in building cultures into lives of people. From very birth to dealth every major moment is celebrated keeping SOIL and SOUL as utmost importance. Even wise people around the world have done it, but not to mass level as to touch million hearts like in India. Its time that World will look into LIFE as a miracle of HAPPENING rather than divide in the name of religion, regions, caste, creed, gender etc...

I had a log/journal that my therapist recommended. Didn’t really have much change for 2 years, and monthly therapy. 3 years ago I came across Sadhguru and started doing the 3month, 1-2year, 10year meditation for success. I now have a pond, fig tree, garden, and 10x20 greenhouse. I see a therapist twice a year.

When he described democracy in the west, I felt like he blamed only the voters and failed to describe the corruption of the whole system by private interests... When the common good is not implemented by people in charge, is it because they fail to point the real problems and the according solutions, or is it because the solutions will be too damageable to profits ? For me, it's the later, without a doubt

What an amazing wise man, I loved his statement about no matter how good an idea is, if it is mentioned by a person from one political party the other party will be against it, even if it could help so many people. It is one of many frustrating things about democracy and it drives me nuts when this happens. People who are in government usually have a very short-sighted view of things because they are only worried about the term they have in office not 20, 30, 40 or 50 years from now. So many people do vote for people nominated by a political party and because of historical family voting views that is how they vote regardless of who is running for office. I think what is being done in India by Isha Foundation and many others is amazing and as an Australian I wish our government would look at what is happening in India and the rest of the world where communities are working so hard to try and restore waterways, forests, grassland etc. Our rivers are dying, our topsoil is being lost due to the land being brought down to bare earth, we have so many years of drought, devastating bush fires and then when it does rain, we have massive floods that inundate thousands of homes every year, cause both stock and crop losses and then the water ends up in the Oceans, taking away more valuable topsoil. We don't look ahead enough to implement ways to catch more of the water for use long after the rains have gone, we don't plant enough trees in areas where soil erosion is cutting up the land, we constantly let land developers build huge housing projects in areas that have historically been flood plains and then when there are floods they are best are just cut off due to flooded roads and bridges or the entire development is under several meters under water. 100-year floods have happened at least 4 times since 2013 in my area alone, but we don't learn from them at all. I am trying to do my bit to heal my 2 acres it is a long and hard process but one that is very important to me.

This was wonderful, Andrew! Sadhguru has shown us that what we call "Permaculture" is simply the most recent incarnation of a primordial wisdom that ALL indigenous peoples--and all our own ancestors as well--took for granted, and we are simply trying to resurrect that wisdom in a modern guise and disseminate it under a new name that people will embrace...Keep on keepin' on!

@@Sun-ce7zz I feel somewhat ashamed to say I'm from The Netherlands. Because we live underneath the sea level, the Dutch have brilliantly trained water engineers. Yet there is a lack of respect for water. There is no such thing as taming the sea, like they try to do. The dikes come with a cost that is beyond ecology. Our drinking water is poluted by the industry. We'll see how we fare 30 years from now. Right now people don't have that level of emotional attachment to understand that the dike needs maintainance and as densely populated as we are, soon there will not be enough drinking water. With the Le Roy foundation I maintain a shared land that is a small forest within a neighbourhood. That's quite unique here.

We are also facing floods during the raining period. Our state ministers visited your nation, for study how to manage flooded water problems. Netherland have an excellent water engineering skills. In the case India, our culture and religion is very close to the nature, so the common peoples or the farmers have an emotional touch with nature, but our political leaders are not supported the traditions and they were close ally with such big industrialists, these business oriented persons are created pollutions in the water, land and air. Can any one please inform the number of trees planted so far exclusively by foundation under its five year old Kaveri Calling. project. Its target was about 2.42 crores and i think public contributed to this ambitious project.

@@amillison Feel some confusion at your end. 93 million means 9.3 crore plants, against the target of 2.4 bn plants? I sought to know number of plants actually planted by Isha Foundation (not including done by other agencies) from out of the public funds collected under cauvery calling project exclussively. This may not include routine plantation done during other times. Thanks and regards.

@@SriranganathHosur What is the confusion. 2.4 bn is 214 crore trees. Currently it is 93 million which is 9.3 crore. That is what Sadhguru said, it is going at very slow pace. You can track progress on Isha's website.

It's sad that in one state #CauveryCalling is going well and other state not. Our work should be such that atleast we should be able to handover #CauveryCalling initiative to next generation. Otherwise it will be crime against humanity as well as other life. It's a humble request to every citizens of the world to contribute to #CauveryCalling, so that it can be implemented all over the tropical world. 🙏🙇‍♂️💚 #ConsciousPlanet #SaveSoil

Guruji has gifted you new goggles with which to see the Ancient knowledge system of the East. Cherish, wear and keep them free from the dust of Western ‘belief’. Do not pretend to know what you do not know because some authority told you so, seek the nature of life to know more better what you want to know more well. Go beyond the physicality of your biology and psychology. Be sincere in what you do not know, for in that there is great potential to know more better the unity of all life. Humanity is but a slice of this life. A delicate yet dangerous Flower we humans are… #SaveSoil is another conversation to have. See that connectivity as well while you are above the soil or the worms will whisper it in your ear for a very very long time. Raise your consciousness with Inner Engineering.

Believing in one God means that all things such as water, earth and air ultimately come from one source. The Bible says God is one, as in unity. So I wouldn't say that God is just something one made up. If anything, it's a deeper understanding of reality.

@@zhenyakc3586In indian spirituality especially yogic culture both your mind & its thoughts have no value , becoz what one perceives in one way another does another, our memory ( past experiences, karmic connections ) gives each a different perception of same thing or situations. Hence enlightenment is being able to go beyond your mind / perceptions to know the ultimate truth as it is . And it is a process / experience not just believe what is told to you about this creation or your true self ( Atman ) . Hence we say divine is within, look within.

All planets are named for gods...why do we call this planet "dirt"? (earth) *Gaia is The Mother of All Life.* if we were taught this, we would not be so eager to devour and destroy the planet that provides for all our needs.

Difference between culture, in India you know it's a tradition to touch elders feet to show respect. The same is also done to earth , everyday millions people wake up and touch the ground , same as touching the elders feet. The earth is considered as mother . The Sanskrit word for human is manav (maa- mother , nav- nine) it's the same word from where the word man comes from also . Which why human is person who has 9 mother( earth mother, birth mother , gurus wife , your elder brother wife , mother cow , any women elder to you , and the three divine goddess- Laxmi , Saraswati, paravati. )

lack of reverence is crime. isn't it? I emphasize soilbuilding in the few square meters I have around my abode, and delight in what's occurred: the plantings I've introduced, the insects and worms, the welcomed birds and not-so-welcome squirrels, rabbits, rodents -- they're present, and absent from lots quite close to me, but clearly lacking. I suppose the mycelium I've developed in the beds have transformed a great deal I can't see. I don't think of scraping and hauling quail droppings, or picking up rabbit droppings, or other things I use as an act of reverence, but really, it is. And, I do that and dig in my kitchen scraps a lot more often than I work with the plants. I'll start realizing when I pull up to dig around in compost to haul away that what I am doing is an act of reverence, not just a weird errand I do weekly, and dumping around top-feed isn't just a chore, it's maybe a meditative act, at least, if not a physical re-offering.

"Love thine enemy" doesn't line up with emotions. Doing what's right often goes against what we feel emotionally at that time. If Sadhguru's teachings brought this sort of value system to his followers, a strong emotional attachment wouldn't be necessary to do what is right. While Sadhguru may have much earthly wisdom, it is good to recognize that many gods being better than one Creator is just another man's opinion.
