Hindi is very good for connecting whole india and I'm not against it but I'm against imposition.. There is a certain incident in Odisha where a central government minister sent a letter in hindi but our Govt. Sent back it and demanded in Odia or English .. and another incident is in AIIMS a doctor asked a patient in hindi that person was unable to express his problem then some people protested and replaced that doctor with a Odia doctor.. here many people can understand hindi but can't speak clearly, but it's manageable.. so we aren't against hindi.. but imposing it can be dangerous..🙏

The new Constitution came into effect on 26 January 1950. Efforts by the Indian Government to make Hindi the sole official language after 1965 were not acceptable to many non-Hindi Indian states, who wanted the continued use of English. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), a descendant of Dravidar Kazhagam, led the opposition to Hindi. To allay their fears, Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru enacted the Official Languages Act in 1963 to ensure the continuing use of English beyond 1965. The text of the Act did not satisfy the DMK and increased their skepticism that his assurances might not be honoured by future administrations. 👆👆 As the day (26 January 1965) of switching over to Hindi as sole official language approached, the anti-Hindi movement gained momentum in Madras State with increased support from college students. On 25 January, a full-scale riot broke out in the southern city of Madurai, 👆👆👆 sparked off by a minor altercation between agitating students and Congress party members. The riots spread all over Madras State, continued unabated for the next two months, and were marked by acts of violence, arson, looting, police firing and lathi charges. 👆👆👆 The Congress Government of the Madras State, called in paramilitary forces to quell the agitation; 👆👆👆 their involvement resulted in the deaths of about seventy persons (by official estimates) including two policemen. To calm the situation, Indian Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri gave assurances that English would continue to be used as the official language as long as the non-Hindi speaking states wanted. The riots subsided after Shastri's assurance, as did the student agitation. 👆👆👆 The agitations of 1965 led to major political changes in the state. The DMK won the 1967 assembly election and the Congress Party never managed to recapture power in the state since then. The Official Languages Act was eventually amended in 1967 by the Congress Government headed by Indira Gandhi to guarantee the indefinite use of Hindi and English as official languages. This effectively ensured the current "virtual indefinite policy of bilingualism" of the Indian Republic. 👆👆 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Hindi_agitations_of_Tamil_Nadu

Whether Tamil has a longer history than sanskrit or whether they were developed contemporarily or whether sanskrit has a longer history is debatable. But hindi should not be imposed on any state if they don't want it, hindi is a child in comparison to even other indian languages, let alone compared to sanskrit or tamil.
@rushtyin3182 жыл бұрын
@MSR Sculpts No, the oldest tamil inscription is the sangam era literature which is about 2000 years old, and oldest sanskrit inscription found is in Syria around 3500 years old, but these definitely doesn't prove how long the language is in practice, and probably will never be found. Because there is no originator language from which sanskrit comes and as far as I know so it is the case for Tamil, although they share many words, which complicates the matter further, so it's practically impossible to definitely determine. Now some Tamil or so called Dravidian supremacist politicians or historians claims that Tamil is the oldest language, but it doesn't make that much sense. They are clearly agenda driven. But anyway both are great languages of our motherland and should be treated with reverence and respect.
@rushtyin3182 жыл бұрын
@MSR Sculpts Yes, I'm aware of the Ancient Tamil Brahmi excavations, and I think it's completely ridiculous to call it Tamil Brahmi just because it is what 10-15% different from other brahmi scripts found in other parts of India, see scripts changes over time, Brahmi was prevelant in India over a period of at least 2000 years minimum, so some regional variations are bound to come, it doesn't mean there was some completely different script. Also even if we go by the Tamil Brahmi theory, by its very name it is suggesting common link between "Tamil" and "Non-Tamil" brahmi. The oldest known site of Indus Valley Civilization (IVC) in India is Bhirrana in Haryana, which is around 9.5 thousand years old, I think also there are some 10-12 thousand year sites in Laddakh, and many unexcaveted places in Tamil Nadu and rest of South, many things are just not explored in India. I agree with you that IVC seems at least 10-12 thoudand year old by archeological estimates alone. And there are increasing evidence that there were civilizations in Ganga Valley, bengal, Tamil nadu etc at the same time with whole of India being interconnected. IVC is the tip of the iceberg. But all these things doesn't help the debate between sanskrit and Tamil, you can just find earliest inscriptions or mentions and estimate, which is again a very contested thing among historians, but anything more doesn't seem possible with present level of technology.
@rushtyin3182 жыл бұрын
@MSR Sculpts Now this I honestly don't know about, I knew about Tamil script being found in Rome due to long trading history and all. Egypt I have no idea, is the inscriptions itself 5000 years old? like Egypt is 5000 years old but in which period there were exchanges between Tamil land and Egypt? But it's certainly not out of possibility I think. Can you give some source material about this? I'm interested.

Dear Friends and Family members, Can we learn Medicine and Engineering in Hindi ? Why our kids should waste their 60 % of their learning time in learning languages ? Give more importance to science and Technology. I prefer English which is mandatory ( IELTS ) to work in US, Australia, Singapore, Canada, UK ...where the unemployment rate is lesser than North India. Most of the Forward Communities learn English and Earn good salary in US. We know what is good for our children's future. BJP wants to make Tamils underdeveloped and poor. Let us not get swayed away by random emotions but rather have the discussion or debate based on 'facts' and 'ethics': (1) Based on discrimination: The attempt from any Indian national Government of the day to declare Hindi as the 'national language' will make non-Hindi speaking people be treated by the Hindi-speaking people as 'second-class citizens in their own country. Hindi is NOT the mother tongue of the majority of Indians. Although English is a foreign language to Indians it acts as a good leveler in the sense that it is a foreign language to all Indians - it is foreign both to Hindi-speaking people as well as to non-Hindi-speaking people and so, everyone gets an equal opportunity to compete at anything. Replacing English with Hindi will give a massive advantage to Hindi-speaking people and this will be unfair to non-Hindi-speaking people. English is a neutral language and avoids caste/race discrimination that happens in Indian languages. (2) Based on practicality: Hindi practically has NO use in science or technology. Nobody can become a doctor/engineer/technician etc by just knowing Hindi. Hindi is just for entertainment through the overrated Bollywood insanity. English on the other hand is widely accepted on the global level and has more value to science, technology, communication, etc than any other language. English works as a link language practically. I have typed this comment on KZbin entirely in English and people all over the world on social media communicate mostly in English. (3) Based on uniqueness: If the number of speakers is the main criterion for the greatness of a language then the 'crow' should be designated as the national bird of India and not the peacock or the 'dog' should be made the national animal of India and not the tiger. It is the uniqueness of a language that makes it great and not some population factor. If someone says that many people speak in Hindi in terms of some 40% of speakers then he/she fails to look the other way the majority of Indians (60%) don't communicate in Hindi. Hindi can mostly be read and understood only in North India, and probably in Nepal. But Tamil, on the other hand, is already official in Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, and to some extent in South Africa. Also, Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odiya, Bangla, Aasami, Urdu, etc. are classical languages and have been in existence in history way before Hindi. (4) Based on imposition: After independence, the states in India were formed on a linguistic basis. We have a Maharashtra for Marathi-speaking people, a Gujarat for Gujarati-speaking, a Tamil Nadu for Tamil-speaking people, and so on. Then why does the Hindi belt have many states even when they say that they have Hindi as one language? That is because the influence of Rajasthani, Awadhi, Maithili, Marwadi, Bhojpuri, Santhali, etc. languages was mowed down because of Hindi imposition and they were designated to the level of just 'dialects' of Hindi. Marathi used to be written in Mudy lipi (script) in the past but because of the Devnagri script imposition back in the 1950s for a set of languages like Hindi, Marathi, Konkani, Nepali, Sanskrit, etc. Marathi, Konkani, Nepali lost their influences. The only vague defense BJP gives is the mudy script of Marathi was continuous in nature and would have been difficult to get that type-written on the press - which is an irrational argument because the same press could typewrite all the other languages like Punjabi, Urdu, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telegu, Odiya, Bangla, Aasami, etc. and somehow just could not do the same thing for Marathi? Marathi people are facing the crisis for the reason that they are struggling to have a script for their own official use and the average Hindi person thinks that Marathi is some kind of a 'dialect' of Hindi. How ridiculous! Marathi historically came into existence way before Hindi was 'formed'. (5) Based on the two v/s three language formula: The two-language formula 'Mother tongue language + English' is sufficient. Three language formula doesn't make sense. What the 3-language formula does is that it wants the non-Hindi speaking states to have three languages -> mother tongue for within the state communication + English for communication outside the state to the rest of the world + Hindi for communication within India with others who don't understand English. This makes the Hindi belt to be selfish to just have one language Hindi as they will not bother to study English. Why should someone from Tamil Nadu or Bengal or Maharashtra have English to communicate with the rest of the world and Hindi to communicate in India when the same Indians can try to understand basic English? English is sufficiently practical as a secondary language. (6) Based on the existing concept of India: Hindi imposition will destroy the unity in diversity of India. There had been riots over this controversy since 1937, the 1950s, and the 1960s, and might happen now or later in the future. The idea of one nation, one election, one party, one uniform, one language, etc. all this oneness stems from the BJP's RSS ideology which was inspired in turn by Nazi Germany. It is harmful, racist, religiously intolerant, linguistically chauvinistic, and detrimental in nature. Tamil Nadu will be the first state in India to secede from the Union of India if Hindi imposition ever becomes a reality. (7) Based on statistics: Migration for work happens largely from the Hindi belt to the non-Hindi speaking states and not vice versa. So, now you see how grave the problem is in the Hindi backward belt. Non-Hindi speakers' tax money is taken to promote Hindi and a less or negligible amount is spent on other languages. Also, why is the taxpayer's money spent more on the promotion of Hindi and less or negligible for other non-Hindi languages? 60% of the budget is spent on Hindi, 20% on Urdu; for Tamil, it is 0, Bangla it is 0, for other languages it is 0; why? This is an utter disgrace! (8) Based on pride and politics: Pride goes before a fall and the average Indian is somehow blind to this and ironically remains to be. It makes Indians not only hypocrites but also narcissistic to its own neighbors. This is because the current BJP government is systematically trying to keep brainwashing the mass illiterate Indians on the internet through the IT cell and in the open rallies. The current BJP government is heavily influenced by the RSS. Before World War II, the RSS leaders admired Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. Golwalkar took inspiration from Hitler's ideology of racial purity. The RSS since its formation opposed joining the independence movement against the British rule of India. Excessive pride will cause India's downfall. No wonder the RSS had its roots in Nagpur within Maharashtra (Golwalkar, Savarkar, Godse, Hegdewar, etc. were Marathis) and is now making the average Maharashtrian behave diplomatically two-faced as some kind of an illogical balance in the policy of appeasement for vote bank politics. Donald Trump in the USA, Scott Morrison in Australia, and Boris Johnson in the UK caused a lot of problems due to right-winged politics. People over there realized the mistake of voting for them and then overthrew the governments and brought center-left progressive governments back to power. In India, it is a big shame that people here are still mostly illiterate, blindly religious, and emotional. (9) Based on nationalism: India as a nation is different in concept compared to European nationalism. Nations in Europe have their own national languages because the influence of other languages in their own countries was moved down by a single language when the boundaries were drawn. In the European Parliament, they still have English as a practical link language. Some people state that China, Russia, Japan, etc. take pride in having their own national languages and not English and rely on translations all the time in dealing with other countries and not using English. But the communist crazy countries or the workaholic nations treat their own people in their own countries in un-democratic ways just to somehow economically prosper by degrading human rights. One-China policy is degrading Tibet, Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong. Japan's workaholic culture is straining the working-class people in the name of pride. Germany was the victim of Nazi ideology in the past. People all the time cannot rely on memory or machine translations/translators and waste time when the same would come naturally in simple communication by knowing basic English. Even the Chinese have started to aggressively teach their citizens English. India had prospered before on global level only because of English and now we are going back. (10) Based on globalization: Once upon a time, there was a colonial power but it's all in the past. The English people are called 'gentlemen' for a reason - although colonial they were not as racist as Germans. The British Empire in the 1920s was the largest empire in the world at any point in history. Whether you like it or not like it - it happened and people all over the world were either directly or indirectly influenced by it. The UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand have the English Anglosphere with more geographical areas for economic opportunities. The USA is still the major global power and the internet in the 1990s popularized English even more leading to an increase in the demand for globalization. Nationalism has become useless in the sense that no country can be self-dependent now and the 'Athmanirbhar Bharat' strategy of the BJP government is notorious in the sense that being self-dependent will first hypocritically rely on Russia, USA, etc. for defense from China OR it will replenish the resources of the non-Hindi states to feed the needs of the impoverished Hindi states.

Hindi can be considered as one of the National languages however imposing hindi literature or Grammer is very difficult for us. Hindi gender is tough and still I find it complicated. I feel Kannada is easier than Hindi that is I studied Kannada and English from class 11th. Tamil is my mother tongue and learnt it through my parents, elders and many bangalore people speak Tamil very well. We can learn only simple spoken hindi with a voluntary option. We must learn to read and write our state languages such as Tamil (Tamilnadu) or Kannada (Karnataka) , Telugu (Andra), Malayalam (Kerala). All state languages culture should be preserved and saved .It is like preservation our generations and traditions.

Why do we use English in every field of India? *(Why do we need English)* 1) India is a *"multilingual"* country & we have a different language family's *(Indo-european, Dravidian, indo-iranian sino-tibetan, Tibeto-burman, Semitic, astro-asiatic Etc..)* & India has no _-national language-_ or any _-monolingual policy-_ the country of India is a *"union system'* and "all languages are respected equally" 2) Only English is recognized and used as the *"2nd administrative language"* in all states of India. (After their state's official language) 3) English is the only language used in all fields of India *(science, technology, research, education, medical, business, job field, information, space field, Navy, etc..)* 4) India is mostly dependent on *"foreign income"* & So we need English in the field of 'business' and 'workplace' 5) English is emerging as the future *"lingua franca"* of India and the World 6) English is *"indispensable"* today and giving more value to "English" after our "State language" is also good for our financial empowerment. 7) Yes there is a language problem in India! So English has grown and is growing as a language to solve that problem, This is the reality! It is better to accept reality. And at the same time all the languages of India should be respected equally

Yes I have observed many North indians are eager to telugu . They will learn it very well. In chennai they are able to learn tamil within 2 months, many marvadi, marathi people speak good tamil. Many good marathi speaking contributed for tamil film industry (super star Rajnikant), many marathi speaking poets such as Dara bendre, Girish karnad have written many kannada novels. North Indians can easily learn kannada within two months. We South Indians can learn any North Indian languages such as bengali Or marathi Or any languages for the necessities. Narrow mindedness really making people into stupid and blind and creating chaos over language bias... its so arrogant and ignorant thing when you do not know how to have equality understanding. Since the beginning of the Constitution, there have been several debates on the issue of the national language. However, India does not have a national language. There is a difference between a national language and an official language. This post shall enlighten you with the national language of India. National Language of India Our Consitution did not give the status of national language to any one language. Hindi was definitely declared as the national language. But, Hindi is a language spoken by only 40% of the Indian population. So, this would be a problem for the rest of the majority of the population as everybody would be required to learn Hindi and this is not possible at all. The Constitution of India has stipulated the usage of Hindi and English to be the two official languages of communication for the national government. Additionally, it contains a list of 22 official languages (including Hindi and English). These languages are entitled to representation on the Official Language Commission, and a candidate in an examination conducted for national government service may opt to take the exam in any of these languages. So India has only two official language (Hindi and English). No National Language

Any language cannot be imposed on anybody simply because you are more in number. Geetha,Ramayana,Mahabharata came from north . Sankaracharya came from south. Essence of it you take and live and enjoy the flavour of Hindustan

English should be used for job purpose but when indians from other part meet ,they should adopt Hindi as means of communication.After Hindi is a indian language and spoken by more people.Nobody is imposing Hindi.I see North East people flourishing in Delhi as they know Hindi and English as well.
