yes, that is a powerful story. So too, is the story of the birds that flew out of the cage but did not prepare well for their freedom, did not know how to forage for themselves or find water. All those birds returned to the cage, sadly - as that was where things were more comfortable.

Replying to both you and TobySmith: I think it's a matter of just changing what we're OCD about. Meditation and Yogic practices are blissful, so the mind is naturally drawn to them. If one allows oneself to get obsessive and compulsive about them over destructive behaviors, one isn't struggling with OCD, one is using it to win the game!

This is such an amazing video, in a world we are living, it's either compulsiveness or habit, one is set to make us do things without even thinking just because of memory while the other is just making us do whatever we've been doing is also from memory, sometimes thinking it's a bad habit and good habit when both are being done without conscious mind. @@chloe0452compulsive behaviour happens unconsciously. People may say a certain word a lot without noticing (subconsciously) because it is an ingrained memory. Same way with addictions, a lot of people don’t realise they are addicted to something and even if they do the ingrained memory is strong enough to keep them there.

Same happened if you try and quit smoking you will never be able to juts become concious about how stupid it is to smoke and it will drop. I had the problem of intrusive thought in 2016. I Struggled for about 1 year but got initiated into shambhavi and since then i have been able yo manage it quite wonderfully. For months on end i dont have these thoughts even when they come i juts simply looka at them and let me pass without fighting or resisting them. Thats the best thing thay worked for me to become more concious of the thougts and let me pass and never ever fight them and thats the same thing that psycologist suggest for ocd and intrusive thoughts. I love his perspective on overcoming compulsive patterns, except he never addresses the biggest problem... What to do when the compulsive patterns seem to hinder being more conscious? It's kind of a chicken or egg predicament. "I need to be more conscious to get rid of my patterns, yet my patterns decrease my ability to be more conscious." It's frustrating. ..but maybe that falls into the "fine game" category he mentioned lol.

Listening to you O master has become my biggest Compulsion that I don't wish to overcome. 😆 Difference between an Average and a Successful person is how he leads his life, consciously or unconsciously / Compulsively. But Compulsive or habitual activity that we have developed since childhood is helpful and makes our life easy , that's the biggest attraction of habits. I wonder how to not let my child, fall in the trap of compulsive habitual patterns, more so than when they are trapped by mobile phones.
