Have many many fond memories of that area and of tbe old OBRY through Brampton, when Brampton was Brampton. Many memories of walking down them from Bovaird to the diamond. Thanks for this.

To this day this is still one of the biggest mistakes in Orangeville. Enjoy the trail for a decade or 2 and then they may think railway again.

Use to wake up every day hearing the train horn and the sound of it

I was at the ceremony event when they handed over the railway to the Region of Peel. Hard to believe that was already two years ago now. Kind of hoping they'll keep the signals there as decor for the trail or something

Really is an unfortunate sight. I hate to say it but that railway has been doomed ever since CP moved its main shipments away from the Owen Sound port. CP wanted to abandon it in the 90’s for a reason. It was great that Orangeville tried to continue it but the small freight demand wasn’t enough to keep it going.

What a shame. Glad I rode the Credit Valley Explorer when I was able. And just what we needed - to fund another rail trail with public money.
