Corey Kluber is one of the best pitchers in mlb. His recent injury made me very sad. So I decided to do an analysis on what made him so good and why that injury made me feel the way I did. I utilized data from baseballsavant, FanGraphs, and baseball-reference to conduct the pitching analysis. Thanks to them!

How in the world is something of this quality your *first* video? Astonishing Since you did an aside, I'll do one as well. I honestly find all the "controversy" about old guard vs new recruits in baseball rather bemusing. I think it's only to be expected. It's order versus disorder, discipline versus frivolity, humility versus pride, honor versus...well, you get the picture. Baseball, for all its glory, is not immune to these constant struggles, and neither are we.

@@carlosbarragan3 That's for sure. The metrics guys are great/informative, but that's only a piece of the pie. I still firmly believe there are intangibles, eye tests, will/heart... things you can't quite quantify but know it when you see it. Guys like Molina and how he handles a staff, and how he takes a decent rotation and makes every one of them better (maybe not as much this year, lol). You can look at catcher's ERA, but it doesn't tell you HOW he does this. Baseball IQ, complete trust that allows guys the confidence to throw any pitch in any situation, magic... who knows. This is what makes baseball special, not oWAR, FIP and slash lines.

As someone who was born into Cleveland sports fandom, but didn't really embrace it until recently, seeing Kluber injured (or even on his off days) was always a sad sight for the exact reasons you listed. This video was a treat, especially for the first video on this channel! As an audio guy, there are some minor things I can quibble with, but thank you for the work here. At the very least this season has had its moments of brightness despite the stretches of injuries we've been seeing in the rotation.

I am so happy, and so sad, that this showed up in my recommended. I have been a Tribe fan since the mid 80's when I was VERY young. My father is a Red Sox fan, and he forbade me from following in his foot steps only because of the heartache he endured his entire life (up to that point...and 20 some years later). Now, he has his pennants. I would never have thought I would see this much effort put into a video about Klubot from a Braves fan....I watched every second of every game in the '95 playoffs/W.S. The way that series ended put a hole in my soul. You may be a Braves fan...but you definitely made this Cleveland fan happy sad..and I thank you for every second! Edit: '97 was worse......just so you know.
