Hello. I was just given this exact machine from a friend. It works great. I do need the Capuccinotore that is in this video. Do you sell it or know where I can get it please and thank you!

10 second extraction time for 1 oz. Isn't it a bit under extracted? Can the grind go fine enough to get a 20 second espresso?

Gail i love your reviews grrat job. My question is how do you place key in bean hopper to ajust grind if the machine gives you a hopper door open error and wont allow unit to start to grind. Its my understanding you should only adjust while machine is grinding?

just bought mine with the milk carafe. I don't understand why after each cup there is about 50ml of water in my driptray...? Then the coffee taste burned. tried 3 different types of beans but all the same...should I set the grinder settings? must say I am a bit disappointed.

Saeco in their videos recommend using a cleaning tablet once a week. The Xsmall doesn't require that, so, more maintenance!

Just bought this unit this weekend! Only used it twice but so far it's been so easy to use! Had a Andreja before which was wonderful, but I have to admit not having to do all the work is great! I need to purchase the Panarillo it sounds like

2 weeks under my belt and I LOVE this machine. It is so easy to use and clean. Great purchase. My mornings are much quicker using this machine and will likely use it more on the weekends now that I don't have to wait 20 minutes for a machine to warm up, grind the coffee, etc. Push a button and your ready to roll in a minute.

Is the Carafe worth another ~$200 in the HD8927? Does it one-touch create cappucinos or do I still have to slide the cup over, etc?
@terrylu3380

I have on HD8924 on hand and I think it's more easier to clean compared with HD8927 , yes, I mena HD8927's milk carafe. The milk and bubble are really hot and I thnk it's good enough for me, though the bubbles looks not good as by manual steam wand"... If you need better bubbles from auto milk system and bear the clean process, I would recomond you to check the Delonghi machin with "LatteCrema" system, such as Delonghi 29.660.SB.

I think that having a tube it's easier to clean than have a carafee too. Terry Lu, do you reccomend the HD8924? I need to buy a good machine that won't give me worries, because I will buy it abroad, so I won't have full warranty in my country.
@terrylu3380
@terrylu3380 7 жыл бұрын
Graduação Nerd , yes, I recommend HD8924 after use for days and review the one on my table. it's one auto-machine with good design and manufacturing, such as less clean and maintenance work, compact and quality appearance, easy to use and understand menus, I think it's the one of the most best buys at this price level in current market. I brought this one abroad, too. HD8914 is almost the same with HD8924, except some buttons and appearance. Because HD8924 is not listed on Philips SAECO official website in my country, China P.R.C (but HD8927 is listed :0 ), so I have to purchase it from ComputerUniverse, one Germany B2C site. and Germany voltage 230V and plug-type are almost the same with my country's 220V. Actually, before order abroad, I also checked my country's Philips SAECO official website, and the warrant page explain all auto coffee machine has global warrant 2 years, which is also confirmed by official customers service for abroad purchased machine. furthermore, I find two official guaranteed customer service workshops in my city. So I advise you to go official site to check the warrant statement in your country. For abroad puchse, the 1st important is voltage and plug-type, such as USA is 110V while 230~240V in EU. This machine is for home use (not too many cups per day, as more shoots, more maintenance) and will work well for long time by correct clean and maintenance. If you located in USA, I think the purchse from SeattleCoffeeGear will be the best choice and SCG crew will give the best guide and support. I really really appreciate to SCG's review on this machine and Gail's detail explainnation make me decide on this type, more flexible to milk foam and less clean for one occasionally milk coffee drinker. To your concerned machine's durability, I think it's almost the same during the brands for home use machine and price level. If you check in Amazon, you will see each hot sale product has Pros and Cons, no matter what it's delonghi, or Jura, or SAECO, or Siemens, or Krups. Take the right one to satisfy your demand priority, use and maintain in correct way, that's enough. Don't forget Gail's note: do not use oily or dark baked beans in auto machines. at the last, if you choose capsule machine, I think it's more likely higher durability, and spend less if only 1~2 shots per day.

I clean the tube by putting a clean glass of water under the hot milk exhaust port. Then put the tube into the water. Now press the milk foaming button and the tube will suck up the water and dispense hot water back into the water glass. This circulates the water from the glass through the heating and keeps the glass full. I do that twice with another clean glass of water. I have had this machine for three months and many cups of coffee and the tube and frother are still clean as a whistle. Dave

Earth Trays Inc. it's really water cycle to clean the auto foam items. I do almost the same, but put another cup under the auto foam. I have to say you're so clever and it's really good idea!

Hi Gail and SCG crew, thanks for your detail and excellent review video! I pick up on HD8924 this week after see this review, and the machine satisfied my a lot. thank you all again! I have one question about add-on "panarello-style wand" mentioned by Gail in this video, which could be purchased from SCE shop. I try to find it in your onlineshop but failed. would you please help to post link to purchase? thank you!

Hi Terry. There are two versions to pick from, black or stainless steel: www.seattlecoffeegear.com/saeco-panarello-assembly-black www.seattlecoffeegear.com/saeco-panarello-assembly-stainless-steel

thank you, I find it a little difficult to take down HD8924 original auo-milk-foam nozzle. if you could add one how-to video to change the HD8924 milk to traditional panarello, it will be fine. much appreciate to SCG team!

I loved your review Gail! I actually found the PicoBaristo model with the stainless carafe and not the cappuccinatore. There are additional drinks in the special drinks menu of the carafe model because of this. Love this machine, changed my mind from almost getting a refurb GranBaristo. I prefer the Cafe Crema instead of the GranBaristo "drip" anyway. Thanks Gail! You are awesome :)

Is the milk hotter from the cappuccinatore compared to milk from a automated carafe? I always find milk from carafes to be luke warm.

On par with a carafe. That said, the panarello option allows you to make the milk as hot as you desire.
