I've never seen such discipline pushing Saenchai out of his usual showman persona. Fabio Pinca showed so much resolve not to give into frustration and just took the hits really well. All i remember is Saenchai feigning his signature 12 to 6 elbow and smiling having fun, and Fabio getting super frustrated and trying to clinch that win he so desperately needed. What a great fight ! To me, the 1st round was close but Pinca won it I think. 2nd round, Saenchai definitely won it, he was able to kick back everytime with more power, was more efficient and stable on his feet (his side step kick on the right is very good and all his kicks made fabio lose his balance). 3rd I would say fabio because he was the agressor and to me saenchai wasn't able to balance the points gained by fabio. It was a very technical fight. So I think the judges gave the 1st round to fabio....but now it's 2017, it would be very good to see them fighting again.

@AtR If by "outclassed" you mean Pinca was much bigger, then yeah. Pinca is amazing and was amazing in this fight. But you can't legitimately outclass a retired fighter who's 10 kg lighter than you while you're in your prime. Saenchai was definitely trying his hardest but got beaten anyway. That's it. But "outclassed" is the wrong word to describe it.

25 pounds heavier is a lot in combat sports. Some guys can deal with 5, 10, or 15 pounds maybe, but fighting high level Muay Thai against much bigger dudes is very hard. Imagine if the tables were flipped... Fabio gets knocked out cold.

Saenchai didn't win but usually judges always gived him those close fights. Fabio hit more clean shots and he was always moving forward, i think (like the judges) he controled the ring, the fight.
