I can't believe Adam saved Tania from the lion!....Seriously, the quality of the videography is better than commercial television in my opinion, in 4k on a 70" tv it truly looks spectacular, really looking forward to the rest of this trip. From the South coast of the UK. Steve and Lins.

I know… it was a narrow escape 😅 Oh my goodness… this is music to our ears because this is the first time we uploaded in 4K. We usually limit it to HD to save space on our hardrives (the cost of which can add up when we’re shooting heavy) BUT we knew this trip would be worth it. So glad to hear this is appreciated 🥹💕 Thank you for being here and see you for the next one 🇹🇿 xx Tania

I am a seasoned safari traveler and I enjoy watching this type of videos for the wildlife and nature footage, mostly. Beyond professional documentaries, it’s great to get a glimpse of what fellow travelers may have been lucky to spot on their safari. While I don’t think that anyone would expect you to be the ultimate safari experts, there are still a few issues I feel compelled to point out. First, you identify several species incorrectly: 1:45 The animal you refer to as an impala is a greater kudu (female). 3:54 The animal you refer to as a male impala is a greater kudu (male). 4:52 The animals you refer to as ‘hunting dogs’ are black-backed jackals. When speaking about the ‘dogs’, you say they are ‘rarely seen’ and scavengers. Well, the ‘hunting dogs’ are indeed rarely seen at Ruaha, but they are not scavengers. Quite the contrary, they are Africa’s most prolific hunters who often see their kills stolen by larger predators such as lions or hyenas. Also, the correct name would be ‘Cape hunting dog’, ‘painted dog’ or most commonly ‘African wild dog’. The animals seen in the video (black-backed jackals) are easily spotted on safari (not ‘rarely’) and they rely on scavenging to a certain extent, indeed, for their survival. 17:46 The animal you refer to as wildebeest are African buffalo. As someone who is enjoying their very first safari and sharing the trip as you go along, I find it rather bold that you promote Ruaha at the expense of the Serengeti. You do so in the video when describing how you had a tower of giraffes all to yourselves, and in the video description when you say, ‘Skip the Serengeti & go on a Safari to Tanzania's Hidden Gem - Ruaha National Park!’. While I obviously understand our very human need to rate and compare, and while I absolutely respect your right to express your opinion and thoughts despite a lack of first-hand experience, I cannot help but gasp at this idea. First, I’d suggest you visit the Serengeti and become familiar with the many different areas and corners it boasts if you feel the need to compare it to other parks in Tanzania. I have been to the Serengeti many times, and I can assure you that it is a mind-blowing location that boasts the same sense of vastness, wilderness, and isolation. Granted, there will be some vehicle traffic around the most coveted sightings on the busiest roads in the Central Serengeti, but the park is vast and if you plan correctly (with the help of professionals in the know, preferably), you can feel like you have an entire slice of pristine East African savanna to yourself. The problems of overcrowding you allude to are most often associated with the Masai Mara in Kenya, and to a certain extent the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. But as far as wildlife encounters are concerned, the Serengeti is hard to beat in terms of quality, variety, and abundance. Which brings me to my next point: for three days on safari in Ruaha, it seems like you didn’t see that much. Therefore, I don’t understand your comment ‘All the wildlife, minus the crowds!’ (In comparison to the Serengeti). This can happen anywhere, but your chances for great sightings in three days would have been much higher in the Serengeti! So, I would very much encourage any first or one-time safari traveler to specifically consider the Serengeti (or the Okavango Delta in Botswana) for this kind of trip if they want to maximize their chances of having a stellar wildlife experience with hospitality to match. To those in the know, Ruaha is a great park for sure but the less obvious choice precisely because sightings can be erratic. That’s part of the reason why the Serengeti is more popular. Like many KZbinrs doing this type of video, you also succumbed to the urge of repeatedly alluding to the imminent dangers on safari. Lions that are too close to the tents, keeping an eye out for lions and leopards during picnics, ‘mean’ lone buffalos who may attack you… These are cliches which do a huge disservice to the safari industry, in my opinion. First, let’s start with the facts: any incident on a quality safari is VERY rare. So rare, in fact, that when an enraged elephant bull toppled a safari vehicle in Zambia a few weeks ago and killed a lady in the process, this made international headlines. Of course, safety is to be taken very seriously on safari as one is out in the wild, but I’d argue that, statistically, a safari is not more dangerous than a city break or beach holiday. Above all, remember that you are under constant protection of trained professionals and companies who try very, very hard to provide a magical experience to their guests. Lions don’t raid safari tents, and breakfast spots are selected specifically with total safety in mind. By no means do I mean to interfere with your storytelling, and I also understand you somehow need to package the trip and the footage in a way that excites viewers and boosts your ‘Likes’. But to someone who is very familiar with this style of safari, I also felt compelled to point out that there is a different way of looking at things, especially since you actively give advice to fellow travelers. Finally: it would be helpful if you disclose whether you paid for this trip yourselves like any other guest would, or if you reached some kind of arrangement with this company and they hosted you for free or reduced price. This would help us understand why you are promoting Ruaha (which is undoubtedly a great destination) and telling people to skip the Serengeti, as this may very much be in line with the company’s commercial objectives (even though they also host safaris in Northern Tanzania / Serengeti).

Hi Pedro, thank you very much for taking the time to share in all your safari knowledge. We have lots to learn for sure and are only able to share based on our limited, personal experience and memory of what the guides explained to us at the time. We would love to experience the Serengeti one day and be as fortunate as you to be able to go back time and time again for multiple safari excursions (beyond Tanzania too). This trip is truly is the best thing we’ve ever had the privilege to do. And given that you feel that we didn’t actually encounter that much wildlife in 3 days (even though to us it far exceeded our expectations), well it just goes to show there is more for us to discover. 😊 Tania
@pedroferreiradoamaral72489 ай бұрын
@@JitsIntoTheSunset Hi Tania, I am glad that the safari bug bit you - I vividly recall my first safaris and the excitement of seeing everything for the very first time. I do not mean to belittle the sightings you had, and one lesson I have learned over many safaris is that you should appreciate EVERYTHING you get to see. It's not just about ticking off the Big 5 and big action, all the time. But I still need to make it clear that the wildlife experience is going to be a lot more rewarding in the Serengeti, most of the time. In any case, out of fairness, I still think your viewers deserve to know who paid for this trip as it will help them put your experience and, above all, recommendations into perspective. I have worked with several reputable safari specialists and I can simply not imagine them recommending Ruaha as the ideal destination for someone who may just go on safari once, as spectacular, wild and remote as the park may be. You have quite a sizeable audience and seeing that most guests will have to spend at least several thousands of dollars on any such trip, it would help to know whether your recommendations are based on any commercial arrangements you have with a safari operator (or not).

This video gave me goosebumps. Memories of my safari trip 7 years ago came back and now I'm feeling a little 'homesick'. No feeling compares to being out in the bush. The feeling that you're just a tiny little human being and that you're nothing compared to the majestic animals surrounding you. It's so humbling and grounding. Nothing else seems to matter any longer. I want to go back now! 😊 And yes, obviously I also can't believe Adam saved Tania from a lion 😂😂 I hope you had a wonderful trip! 💕

Hi! New subs here from Dubai. I searched for a safari vlog in Tazania and i found this video. My husband and I are planning to go for Safari in Tanzania in April and even checking what else we can to enjoy this wonderful country. Thanks for sharing this video, it’s beautiful! I like the storytelling and the color grading. I just want to ask if there is electricity in the place you stayed. Why i asked coz i saw a vlog from a famous Filipino vlogger and they did the same safari. Ladies there cannot use hair dryer coz they said, there’s no electricity. I hope you will notice my comment. Thank you
