The temple is unique in architecture, Thanks Santhosh Kulangara the great traveller & narrator. Madhya Pradesh is is relatively less explored state in India in a tourism perspective. Obviously, literature also less in number. I remember a reading travelogue named 'Narmadaude Nattil (Malayalam) & it's English translation - In the land of Narmada - (1970) gave beautiful exploration through the magical path of River Narmada. The book is written as a combination of history, our culture , social life with a mystical touch. Kudos

Very nice travel with historical areas of central india. Madya Pradesh have a very rich culture and history. Ruled by great kinga and queens. Maharaj bhoj-bhopal, Maharaj vikram- ujjain, Rani Ahaliyabhai holkar-indore, Rani Durgavati -jabalpur(gondwana) Raja chatrasal -Rewa, Raja shankar shah, Raja Raghunath shah-gondwana, The state eastern and weastern parts are dominated by two important tribes Bhils and Gonds.

This is one of the attempts to consecrate Dhyana lingam similar to that of Isha in Coimbatore near the Velliangiri mountains. But the consecration was a failure due to one invasion. While doing the prana prathishta of this lingam (due to the fast track process) due to a mistake it couldn't finish and a vertical crack happened on the lingam. This we can see (patched with some paste by archaeological dept of India) even now.
