Is there a preference for one of these over the others? Obviously SS3 is the easiest to install, so there must be advantages the other two offer to choose them over SS3. It would seem that the condensate line as pictured could be accessed and blown out from the pan whether there was an SS1 on that line or not.

Great question, Luke! Each model has its specific use. The SS3 is typically used on a safety pan located below the air conditioning unit. The SS2 is used on the primary pan's auxiliary outlet and is used to sense any blockages in the primary drain line. The SS1 detects clogs in the primary drain line and allows for clearing of blockages in the line and routine maintenance. We suggest using all three models on the air conditioning system to provide the best protection against potential water damage. @@RectorSealCorp all 3 sounds a bit overkill. One would think that they would be sold as a package if all 3 were supposed to be used, and unless you expect one of them to fail and not do it's job, all 3 would be redundant and trip at the same time unless set at different heights. SS1 and SS2 certainly seem to be redundant for purposes of detecting issues with condensate line clogging. Otherwise, would not SS1 achieve the access requirement and clog detection and shutoff?
