the name of the city comes from the Hebrew "L' zafot - to expect - for the Massiah to come as he enters from this city - goes down to Beersheba (seven wells) to collect the lower seven syphirot and he travels to Hebron (to connect in Hebrew) as he connects the heaven and the earth and then enters Jerusalem ("they shall see all is one")

What a wonderful video over Safed. And what a joy to see the Shul of Ari there I got a speciall blessing during laying on Tefillin, by a wonderful man. It is very nice to "go around " at the night-time. Wish that I will come and stay in SAFED both to be at services and have a wonderful walk after a nice dinner in some of the small restaurant there.
