Be safe! My son, who is in the Army, was deployed to Iraq x2. He was at Camp Freedom when it fell. He was in Afghanistan as well. For the past 12 years he’s been working with processing physicians and various army staff. He’s going on 23 years. Thank you for your service. I’ve never prayed harder than when he was in Iraq during the war. God is good. I’m thankful every day for his safety. I have a tee that says my son hates sand and heat. Hello again, your post popped up while I was working and have just watched the entirety, thank you again for including us Pandas in your prayers. I’m an oncology nurse here in CA and was fortunate enough to communicate with Dan on several occasions, both of us encouraged by the advanced treatment options inc cellular and immunotherapies available, while recognizing the physical, emotional and spiritual needs so necessary for patients and caregivers. We in healthcare have so much to offer but nothing close to the strength of your brother’s unwavering optimism and positivity, an ever abundant supply which he spread over his panda embarrassment who in turn carried it forwards. Dan made a tremendous impact in my life charging me with renewed enthusiasm, vigor and compassion. I miss his insights and presence inordinately. May God bless Dan and you John along with your entire family and all of us grieving Dan’s loss🙏🏻

Hello, John. Thank you for doing whatever it is that you are going to have to do for all of us here at home, I’m truly grateful. I’m also happy that you talked about the Panda family as a current family, not one that has passed. Dr. Dan instigated the idea of a nonsensical joyous rollypolly happy glorious approach to life, that drops the mic on explanation. I’m happy to hear that he somehow got you to hear that, too, being our warrior. I wish you cooler showers and more privacy. I pray that your deployment is unnecessary and you are back home earlier that you think you’ll be. I hope your daughters have the love for you the daughters do, but see the love that a Panda can get and give from their dad . Your time is valuable, I’m graced that you spent some of it with us. Hug to you Randy

Hello John! My daughter is in the Coast Guard for 16 years. Her last deployment was on a boat (270 cutter) that traveled to Africa, Nova Scotia, and South America, Cuba and the islands intercepting drugs and migrants for 3 years. I went to Virginia to care for her 2 children in base housing during the deployment only communicating through email with her. She did come home every 90 days for a month. This was heart wrenching seeing her leave each time not knowing where she will be. Last year she finished her deployment on the cutter and is now stationed on land as a Chief. I’ve since moved back to Florida. I’m proud of my daughter and proud of you too! Be safe, take care, we love your updates! Thank you for your service and dedication to our country. 🇺🇸

I pray that you will settle in quickly, that these first few days are not too draining (spiritually and physically) and that there aren’t too many emergencies during the night so you can wake up refreshed and give the best care you can to your patients.
